Riyad Mahrez - 2018/2019 performances

Would that be the raz and sane who are centurians you mean?

Yeah that's one of the weirdest posts I've ever seen.

Raheem and Sane won’t make the team win the title as of now at least. The likes of Kevin, Aguero and Riadh can becaused they did it in the past and are marture enough to make an impact over the whole season.
I guess he missed last season when Sterling won us about 9 points by scoring late goals when our backs were up against the wall, or how Sané got YPOTY for his contribution to the best league season in English football history.

I really thought Mahrez would add an extra dimension to the team. Now whether he is struggling to fit in because we have regressed this Season in terms of performance levels or he is a square peg in a round hole I don't know but so far I don't see the gain I anticipated. I had visualized him picking out Aguero or Gabby with those laser like defence splitting passes he hit in to Vardy whereas he just seems stuck out wide . Still time though to find his game.

Really, how has he been able to proove anything? We paid £60m for Mahrez, he is nearly 29 and shouldn't be learning how to beat his man and cross the ball. I can't help thinking that at Leicester he looked better than he is as opposition teams didn't sit deep and Leicesters style of play was to attack on the counter. Few teams take on City most now sit back. And he's doesn't seem to have it in his locker to beat his man when a defence sits deep and put in a cross most of the time. Unlike Sterling and Sane.

Perhaps offer to help Pep to coach him ?

I don't get the Mahrez hate. The only knock I had on him was that very early in the season (his first game or two) he didn't seem willing to contribute on defense.

Pep seems to have corrected that problem.

Mahrez beats his defender pretty consistently, not for pace, usually (but Mahrez isn't slow and when faced with slower defenders will beat them for pace), but by dribbling past his man. IMO he's a great addition to our side.

The lad played less than 15 minutes when we were 3-1 down and the opponent parked the bus, and yet he is getting lot of stick ! It is beyound me that players who contributed to the fiasco got away with their poor performance. Let’s face it, Raheem and Sane won’t make the team win the title as of now at least. The likes of Kevin, Aguero and Riadh can becaused they did it in the past and are marture enough to make an impact over the whole season. Let’s not count our chickens yet, the bloke has not been as poor as being portrayed in here; quite the opposite, he is growing into Pep system and had a significant impact on several games (Lyon, Spurs..).

Must try harder.

Don’t think I’ve ever seen him beat a man a get behind the defence since he arrived, cuts back in and slows it down. He can cross a ball that I will give him

He does like to cut back in and yes he slows the tempo down. Nonetheless, I've seen him dribble past his man or get open otherwise very often. He's not blessed with the speed of Sane or Sterling so he's going to take more time to get clear of his marker.

I did not deny their controbution to winning the title. I just said without Kevin and Sergio we would have struggled because they do not have the same compsure and experience as seasonned players like Kevin and Sergio. Chelsea and CP games proved me right. By following your logic about Raheem, I can tell you that Riadh has already won us six points against Spurs which are becoming a serious countender and Watford, he has also been awarded man of the match on four occasions so far. People keep bringing up the fact that he is our record signing ! Yes, so what ? The market has drastically changed ! Kevin, Sergio and Raheem whould have cost us at least twice as much as Riadh in today’s market.

Who passed the ball to him?

Sorry , I forgot you are one of those people who believe that a football forum isn't the place to offer an opinion if it doesn't agree with yours. So you reply with what you consider to be a clever dick answer. Rather than come back with a well thought out reasoned reponse.
