Riyad Mahrez reportedly in line for new contract

He started elite football only at the age of 23 with Leicester and hasn't suffered major injuries during his PL career. So, I think he can manage to keep playing with full abilities into his mid-30s.
I hope your right, he is a wonderful talent but it's still a risk at 3 years, although we don't know the details of the deal, I would imagine it's hugely incentive based to reduce the risk.

Mahrez has been consistently superb for the past couple of years - his instant trapping of high balls out to the wing becoming quite a party piece ... always looking dangerous & scoring lots of goals. (The only exception was probably the last few games of last season when he seemed oddly lackadaisical).

He's been a big driver in our recent European adventures too.

"FFS" seems a long time ago now.

That said, for some reason he never struck me as someone who'd finish his career at City, or as someone that Pep had 100% faith in, and the new contract would take him to 34 and a half years of age.

So personally I'm pleased but a bit surprised.

David Silva likes this post ;)
Not sure if that's a disagreement.
No denying David's brilliance - absolutely superb and often instant control - but I've never seen a player either instantly control a difficult ball, or take it instantly into his stride without pausing like Mahrez can, nor as perfectly so often as he seemed to do it last season.
