They're not giving Slimani up, they're offloading him. He's absolutely useless to them with Vardy, Okazaki, Iheanacho and now Diabate ahead of him.

I hope Mahrez isn’t being brought in to replace Merlin for the rest of the season. I suppose, given his unfortunate family problems, it could be understandable to give him the time off.

Another thing to factor in is if Arsenal don't get the Dortmund guy over the line as the Germans can't get a replacement in (sounds familiar) by 5,pm they could attempt to make a move on Mahrez tonight.... doubtful but worth bearing in mind.
