I totally agree with us refusing to sanction a deal worth c.£95m but with the deliberate standard of refereeing in this country, where full-on assaults are not punished, the likelihood of our going another five games, never mind the rest of the season, without another one of our key players being kicked onto the treatment room for 4-6 weeks is virtually nil.
Many will criticise txiki for this and the Sanchez deals, and god knows I’ve not always been his biggest fan, but I actually think it’s good that we have a line in the sand that we will not cross on transfers.
Maybe we should simply avoid dealing with shithouse English clubs in the future.
As for the refereeing (separate point, sorry mods) it’ll never happen but personally I’d like to see us tell the English fa to fuck off and go and play in Spain.

And this is why deals like Neymar, Coutinho and VVD etc only distort the market if clubs let it. Leicester have said 'Well if they're going for that then he's worth this' - If no one meets their valuation all those deals did were delay a player move to another day. Maybe before those deals 65m would have got us the player this window, but Leicester can't hold out forever. It's up to the clubs to grow a pair and say no, just because Liverpool or PSG over pay for players does not mean that's the new market rate, and we're willing to miss out on a few transfers to let everything settle down.

More than happy with the stance the club is taking here and with Sanchez. We've had the hit and miss taken out of us for the last 10 years and now it has to stop. Have a valuation and stick to it, I'm more than happy with that. As good as both he and Sanchez are £95m or £400k a week for Sanchez is more than good enough reasons to walk away.
Unfortunately a club with success and cash,we are going to have prices ramped up regardless- so your choices are morals or pay the cash...
