No. Apparently he was plan b in the unlikely event Sanchez fell through. Sanchez fell through, so we went to plan b. Leicester had 18 days to find a replacement & to negotiate a fee for Mahrez.

The fact this isn't the first time they've stiffed him, it's no wonder he's seriously pissed with them. City were his big opportunity & Leicester thinking we were desperate after missing out on Sanchez, & even more desperate after Sane's injury, probably thought they had us over a barrel with our y-fronts around our ankles.

Gutted we didn't get either Sanchez or Mahrez, but I'm seriously proud that we only want players who will buy into our club ethos, & for whom we won't get rinsed.

£43m for Bernardo Silva & £95m for Mahrez is an utter piss take.

2 clauses, if injured seriously, price reduces/deal off.
Mahrez must perform for fresh of season for Leicester.

This way Leicester get a focused mahrez back, we get the deal done early and mahrez and is are happy.

I know window ain't open but can you agree these deals in advance

Leicester probably wanted £80m cash plus Roberts hence the £95m that was widely reported. Can see City offering £50m plus Roberts for a very fair £65m.

it would be good for Mahrez for sure , but maybe Hazard may become available ? if Chelsea don't finish top 4 and sack conte . Doubt we would go for Hazard if already agree on Mahrez , unless Aguero leaves for example

I should think a move to Leicester for Roberts would be good for his own development regardless of whether Mahrez comes this way or not. Not putting Celtic down by any means it's just that Roberts will get to play against all the top PL teams, not sure how good the opposition is for Celtic in SPL.
