A few reasons it doesn't get me overly excited.
I was hoping for sterling and Sanè 1st choice with a young player Bailey, kluivert, etc with bags of potential to integrate and improve over the season/years. A project player we can invest in.
I didn't enjoy watching a player refuse to play/train to force a move and then sulk. It's happened to us in the past, I didn't like it happening to us and I don't like it happening because of us.
I question his mentality he can go missing for weeks/months and then turn it on and never seems to want to front up and apologise for his performances.
His work rate is questionable, does he have it in him to chase back and graft for the team.
Having said that, he is a very good player. He adds that final pass/shot consistently and goes past 2/3 players with a purpose. Hopefully if we get him he answers all our questions and he steps up again into world class stats. I understand he only plays for Leicester and the motivation at city will push him to push himself harder, only time will tell.
Sané and Sterling ARE project players we are investing in. We don’t need another young attacking player, we need someone in their prime. Aguero is old, Jesus, Sterling and Sané are kids. We need someone in the 25-28 age range.

Wondering if we’ll see this at times next season....

—— Jorg/Fern - De Bruyne ——

Mahrez —— Sterling —— Sane

————— Jesus/Aguero ————

I don't like that line up at all, first of all I think Silva and Bernardo would have something to say about it, more importantly playing without a defence and goalkeeper is just asking for trouble:)

I don't get this argument of signing players with bars of potential for future?

Sane Sterling Jesus Bernardo and probably Foden Diaz are all part of The Future. As of now we can do with experience.

I think people will love this signing when it happens mate but many (including myself) see this as a great complement to Sterling and Sane, so maybe seem less excited about it. I love the fact that he is proven in the prem and will make us even more dangerous going forward but just think the DM is the "need" signing of the summer...
Could Sterling or Sane have done what Mahrez did at Leicester?
