Riyad Mahrez

I expect him to be among our top three goalscorers next season.

I have always loved watching a player who backs himself and can actually just beat someone with control and dribbling skills, rather than what Sane and Sterling obviously offer us in abundance, which is to get it out of their feet quickly and burn people in a foot race.

Will be very useful I think when it comes to teams defending the penalty area and trying to get us to move the ball out wide to keep their defensive shape.

Mahrez can literally drive through the middle into he box, which only De Bruyne and Gundogan really offer at the moment, yet Mahrez is much more potent offensively.

Agree but playing for city and having to win games score goals when it’s a tight game is totally different than the no pressure at Leicester.

Obviously.

That could be argued for any player that moves from a less pressured situation to being under microscopic examination at one of Europe’s elite clubs.

It all a question of trust and confidence.

People in my experience have a tendency to assume that the best players in smaller teams don’t work hard, when I don’t think that’s often the case.
So you think he has a decent work rate, fair enough pal. That's all you had to say. No need for snidey add-ons. People like to debate on here, if you don't agree with my opinion say why, don't say it's "lazy stereotyping". Hope you are right, like I said a very good player.

Really agree with this. I think he'll be a game changing addition across the course of a season. So often we're playing two banks of 5 defenders and sometimes having to wear them out over 90 mins (How many late wins last season?). By adding Mahrez we will have a different kind of lock pick that should help us to create more chances earlier and kill those games.

I certainly like the player, but do wonder how good he is on the left.

When we where after Sanchez whilst he can play across the front 3, he does seem to prefer the left and my view but some what limited is Mahrez is on the right.

I know Sterling can play on the left but it shows it is not his preferred position.

Last season I felt at the time we where slightly short at LB and it was the one place we did not really want an injury, so City being City of course it is where we have our big injury. The plan then was a RB who could play LB playing there and it didn’t quite work, luckily the boy Delph was a revaluation to the point now, I think we have plenty of cover. Also felt a bit sorry for Danilo as I think most have judged him when not in his favoured position, as simply a back up RB I doubt there is any better in the league.

So City being City Sane will get injured watching the WC on his sofa.

Do other people feel Mahrez addresses this, or is it an area of concern. I know it is difficult to have 2 WC player in every position but just getting the general feeling.

It could be Pep being Pep Mendy ends up on the wing or a chance for Diaz.

Just not seen much of Mahrez on the left and don’t really like Sterling there, so wondered if others had seen much of him on the left?

Agreed.
