Can't wrap my head around so many fans wanting to sell a player who's averaged a G/A every 110 minutes over five campaigns. Some of you seem to have completely taken for granted his composure and clinical finishing in/around the box. Not to mention the FIFTY-NINE assists to go along with the goals... Well respected and liked in the dressing room on top of it all. I can promise you he's better than 99% of the potential replacements and that 1% of players would cost a fortune.

I think the biggest hit on this one will be to the locker room. Everyone seems to love him but to be able to cash in on him at his age would be nice.

It's not so much wanting to sell him as recognising that this is the best time to do so, for all parties. We've got the best out of him, and Pep has alluded to his unhappiness at not starting enough. He can go and get silly money for a few years and we'll get the best fee possible for a player of his age.

Unless we go out and buy a world class winger, it'll weaken us next season for sure. But I'd hope the club will take the long term view.

"We've got the best out of him"

How do we know that? He had 15 G/A last season in 30 apps. Have we got the best out of Phil as well because he lost his place last season too?

We still don't know if Riyad would accept the offer, but at least potentially there is some movement to resolve this situation one way or another.

I'm torn, because I still think he has a lot to offer but getting a decent fee for him is tempting, given his age. Surely getting another winger in would be imperative though if he does leave.

The absolute biggest games he was left out. We have other/better options.

Foden could do pretty.much what Mahrez does out there but with better speed and workrate. I know there's talk he'll play more centrally, but maybe he won't. Or Bernardo can do what he did out there late on last season, if he stays.

And we need to make sure Alvarez is included. The guy is just supremely effective.

Then we have Palmer, who could play in a similar way to Mahrez, though perhaps we'd need a little patience.

Or maybe McAtee now that he's back. He could operate from a wide position, or perhaps more centrally allowing Foden to play on the right.

We have a load of options already. If the perfect replacement is out there then I'm all for it, but I think we could sell while replacing from within.

That’s the thing, how much would you take from one of the Saudi clubs for him? I’m personally absolutely gutted he’s been amazing for us he’s turned up within big games. His game really doesn’t depend on pace with him getting older. He the perfect pep winger for us right now.

The RW market is pretty dead. Seems the top top level of talent that could be available plays off the left. Kvaradona/Leao. The right is pretty dry. Saka would be my ideal replacement but not sure it'll be an easy pull (near impossible).

I think he's a player that still has a lot to offer but last season when he wasn't picked for some of the big games he had a face like a smacked arse I think if he stays his game time will be even less so you still have the same problem except your not getting the big saudi$$$ .It's the problem you have when you have 16 players that would start at nearly every other prem club we never seemed to lose players to injury last season as well so always had top players having to be disappointed

As it been highlighted it is a dead market if we were to sign a replacement. It may open the door for James McAtee if we did sell him
