Robben

He could go one of two ways for me... Either he will continue to have injury difficulties and we look the fools, or he turns out to be a star player for us and has a second coming kindof like what Zlatan is for PSG. Personally I believe he can be the latter of those two but yeah 24 mil is a big price tag for a 31 year old. One bad year and it drops to 10 mil (Yaya is the perfect example of that) so i guess we'll just have to have faith in our staff to make the right call on this one

Zlatan's always played in the slowest leagues.

True but you get my point, Robben has played with the big dogs and shown how dangerous he is... Probably the best in the world in his position, unless you count messi as a right winger which is a little cheap. Plus with his speed and clinical finishing he could at the very least be a super sub for several years past his prime.

Hope our DOF,will take note if rumours are true about Robben(24mill),well if they get 15mill for yaya,Going by age & transfer price..for me its a good deal(except for his injures if he is prone to them).but merging the other post, ageing team, yeah they can still play better in there advancing years than previous old pro,s..& he is a world class player still,& who can put in a good cross in.....

I really hope this is a joke.

Don't get me wrong, Robben is probably my favourite player in the world to watch when he is on his game, but he is going on 32 next season and is one of the most injury prone players of the modern era. We shouldn't be paying £24 Mill for a player of his age and fitness record. It goes against everything the club claims to represent when it talks about a sustainable holistic approach to running the club.

Can't stand the diving, cheating, little rat. He has a face that I would love to reverse over in a Land Rover Discovery.

No it doesn't.

He would be a brilliant short term signing even if he did miss parts through injury & the fact of his age would mean that our own best kids would be around 21 as he comes to the end of his spell, & just becoming regular starters as his games get less frequent, & he is someone they would learn from, thus the 'hollistic' approach would be perfectly suited to this.

If you think about it, signing Pogba for 70 mil would be the exact opposite of 'hollistic' really, as he takes the place of any academy kid who may come through, for the next ten years.

But in reality it is impossible to make every signing suit that model. It's a general idea, not a stonewall rule.

I couldn't think of a worse signing. We shouldn't even be considering anyone at his age, we're building for the future these days, not instant success (which with his injury record is no guarantee anyway).
