Robbie Savic

If he is as good as Lescott by 22, he will exceed my expectations. Don't be fooled by the chatter about Lescott's deficiencies. Yes, he has them, but he has some very important strengths too, and those strengths shore up some critical weaknesses in our side, like our aerial vulnerability when he's not in the starting 11.

Let's not put too much pressure on Savic. He will have to work very hard to be as good as Lescott and it may not happen for a few years.

I do agree with you to some extent about lescott but you carnt hide the fact that savic has impressed in every game he has played in. Carnt help but feel if he gets a run of games we will see his true class.

I do like lescott don't get me wrong he has shown is incredible ability this season. Kolo toure has a huge battle on his hands to get back in the team.

He's a good prospect still has a lot to do if he is going to fulfil his potential. He goes to ground far to often instead of staying on his feet, however the last few games he has played he has improved on this.

Savic can start ahead of Lescott when he puts the Stoke forwards in his pocket for 90 minutes like Lescott. Joleon is monstrously strong and has superb timing in the air.

Until then Savic can hit the weight room. I don't think he'll be ready to take first choice CB for years.

I think he's superb & has been 1st choice CB for his nation in this qualifying campaign.Vidic is hardly Schwarzenegger & he copes just fine in the prem. As other posters have said,if you're good enough you're old enough,& he's certainly good enough.More game time please Mr Mancini!

Good post that bh. Lescott does indeed solve that repeated problem we had with aerial balls and set pieces . Which is why it was a ludicrous decision to start kolo in Munich. But I rate savic very highly from what I've seen of him and he looks like he could be a first choice player within the next year or two. In the case of injuries or suspension I'd pick him ahead of toure every time.

He looks a very good young signing to me.

pretty much this tbh, I think Mancini breaking him into the squad like he is doing now is the best thing for him slowly give him a taste of whats to come and he'll be better for it, I'd be less concerned if Savic was playing rather then Kolo. The first 2 or 3 times I saw Kolo I thought he'll take time to gel into the team, I'm sorry but I've seen a 20 year old Savic 2 or 3 times (for City) who's come from an entirely different league gel into our team straight away and had no problems fitting in, I would of prefered Savic against Munich then Kolo..... I don't know who scouted him but give the guy a pay rise....

tbf whenever he's played it's been in a 5-man defense when we're leading by 3 goals or against Birmingham's reserves in the carling cup. Yes he's a good prospect but saying he's better than Lescott now is v brave / v stupid. Hopefully Mancini will carry on slowly developing him and integrating him into the team and over the next season (or 2) we will see a lot more of him.

If he bulks up too much,he won't be able to leap as high as he does now. It would be better if he builds up gradually.

I agree, I didn't say he's better then Lescott I think he's better then Kolo....

I reckon he'll be better then Lescott in a few years no doubt just as long as he carries on training hard and gets a good run of games...

It's been a 3 man defense with two wing backs. Not 5 man.

I would trust him with a start against the bigger teams. He clearly was good enough to nullify Nasri when they played in the CL.
