Robbie to Barca done deal apparently ??

Already this morning i've had three people come up to me and mention this story, the general consensus was that we apparently told Dunne to go as we needed the money and this is just another way of us clawing money back, in effect, they reckon we're skint lol.
One thing i will say is that selling Robinho will definitely make other top stars think lond and hard about joining us, they'd probably be thinking along the lines of ' jeez, they couldn't even keep their star player for much longer than a season, something isn't right at that club'

I would be really disappointed if we did agree to sell Robbie, but if he really wants to go, we'd be stupid to block the move indefinitely. Maybe agree to sell him to Barca in the summer, giving us time to sort out a suitable replacement.

One thing is for sure - I would expect the Club/MH to make some sort of statement if there is no truth in this. They seem quite keen to correct tabloid inaccuracies of recent times, and this story has appeared in a number of papers now. It would be in keeping with their current MO to make a statement about the inaccuracy of these stories, if they are actually inaccurate.

From my side of it, the only way they can have him is if they give us iniesta, toure is a top player but swapping him for robbie wouldn't be a good deal, iniesta or fuck off.

Anyone noticed how we have denied this Robbie business but as of yet not denied any of the Ribbery rumblings?

I accept we're not going to comment on every player we're linked with but Ribbery would be a huge coup for the club hence a big media circus regarding any bid.

Where did we deny this Robbie-Barca stuff mate?

Looks like I missed that one!

Hate to say I told you so, but I did, back in May actually

Robbie and his Brazillian chums are/were not what Hughes wants in his squad - he (allegedly) sees them as lazy, indifferent and temperamental, and to top that, poor trainers. Whereas the Argentinians, and ALL of his of his other signings have a different mind set, strong work ethic, and mental toughness which he (Hughes) recognises and likes.

There is no way we will not have a contingency plan in place should the (IMO) inevitable happen and Robbie moves on

My guess, and these days that's all I can offer, is a move for either Ribery or Aguerro, I believe either would be superior replacements

EXACTLY!!!! Too many doom-mongers on here. The way it looks, the way the fee is almost what we paid etc, its as though Robbie just wants to go back to Spain. Here we have two options, we either keep him and have an unhappy player on out hands, or we be amicable and let him go on the proviso we get more or less what we paid. Then what we do is blow a seconds worth of fuel on Ribery, meaning Robbie is happy, Ribery is happy, Barca are happy and City are happy. Reading many, many posts on here I think people forget exactly who we are compared to Barcelona, and if there are people who have forgotten that, let me tell you that currently we are NOTHING compared to Barca, and the liklihood is will never will be, whether we win the CL or not. Barca are more than a club and money or no money if Barca or City are the choices on a players future, Barca will more than likely win as long as any of us are alive. Its the way it should be, too.

Not at the prices i've seen quoted, £60m+ for Ribery is laughable
