Mancini is a liar like the rest of us.
Obviously when a player is signed, you can't judge how they'll feel 5-10 years down the line.dctid said:pudge said:This "no resale value" argument annoys me more than the "he's too injury prone"BlueAnorak said:Mancini was pretty insistent. There were NO weasel words for future wriggle room...
"Both Dzeko and Tevez will stay at City. We are a great team and we try to keep all our great players. It won't be easy but they will stay here."
RVP is too old, is injury prone and will have no resale value.
Not every player is bought with the intention to sell them at a profit, or at all.
And every player is "injury prone", some are just more unlucky than others.
Agree but then again most players are bought with the intention that there is some resale value that may be 10% - 50% or 150% of whatever the player was bought for - cant think of may clubs that allow players to see out their contract most are slld if they wont commit with 12 or 18 months to go - RvP -DJ are such examples
That must be true.adrianr said:Marvin said:The deal for RVP, if there ever was one, is dead in the water
I think City and Mancini were waiting to see Tevez's attitude in training and to sus out if we were going to have a repeat of last Summer and the transfer requests.
So we keep the best strike-force in the Premiership together, and concentrate on strengthening one or two positions if possible. This is the best outcome possible
I wouldn't underestimate Balotelli's impact at the Euro's either. Maybe Mancini saw enough to convince him how much of a role he can play next season.
If only managers, and everyone in football, always told the truth..Marvin said:Logic and Roberto Mancini say he'll stay. It's a toughie...Tevez and Dzeko will stay at Manchester City
Pretty much ensures that RVP will stay at Arsenal, or go elsewhere because Mario and Sergio are going nowhere.
If you were City manager the risk would be that Tevez continues to agitate for a move, but if you were convinced he'd stay then you'd be mad to replace him. He is the best full stop
It is if you are playing in the Champions League and FA Cup. Tevez can play in midfield too.Blue Haze said:It isn't realistic to keep both Carlos and Edin. Unless Edin doesn't mind being 4th striker and getting the odd start here and there.

You need 4 in England. When Utd won the treble they had 4. last season they had 7 though the weren't all top class

-- Sun Jul 15, 2012 6:18 pm --

robbieh said:Marvin said:It is if you are playing in the Champions League and FA Cup. To be honest. Kun, Mario, RVP and Tevez does look a tad excessive. Madrid have Benzema, Higuain and Ronaldo. Barca Messi, Villa and ???? Chelsea Sturridge, Torres.
Why do we need 4 world class strikers when no other team in the world has even two, apart from Madrid.
