To be honest. Kun, Mario, RVP and Tevez does look a tad excessive. Madrid have Benzema, Higuain and Ronaldo. Barca Messi, Villa and ???? Chelsea Sturridge, Torres.

Why do we need 4 world class strikers when no other team in the world has even two, apart from Madrid.
You need 4 in England. When Utd won the treble they had 4. last season they had 7 though the weren't all top class

I actually don't think Utd have 4 world class strikers. At a pinch Rooney. But to put Welbeck and the mexican in the same bracket as our quartet, or Benzema, Ronaldo, Messi is ridiculous. Nor did Chelsea when they won the PL two years ago. Drogba, Anelka and ???

Sorry I see you said when they won the treble. Sheringham, Cole, Yorke and Solkskaer. A good quartet I agree. But man for man our lot our better.

People would also argue that in reality,we also don`t have 4 world class strikers.

Logic and Roberto Mancini say he'll stay. Mancini's comments to the Italian media are as forthright as you can get

Pretty much ensures that RVP will stay at Arsenal, or go elsewhere because Mario and Sergio are going nowhere.

If you were City manager the risk would be that Tevez continues to agitate for a move, but if you were convinced he'd stay then you'd be mad to replace him. He is the best full stop
If only managers, and everyone in football, always told the truth..
If the reports are accurate and up to date then they are very significant

Not really..

Didn't say they do. They did when they won the treble. Sheringham, Cole, Yorke, Solksjaer

Aguero better than Cole
Tevez better than Yorke
Balo better than Solsjaer
Sheringham better than Edin.

3-1

Mancini is being truthful, no doubt about it at the time he was probably asked the question, Tevez and Dzeko will be staying because neither have been sold and no player brought in to replace them. Interesting when asked about RVP some time back he wouldn't comment. No doubt in a week or two if RVP has signed and Tevez has gone he will be able to say that a world class player became available and we had an unbelievable offer for Tevez, and Tevez wanted to go. I cannot chain the players to the clubs they are not slaves. :-)

We all add extra signifcance to news we perceive as good. But I do think the manager's views are more significant than ITK gossip, welcome though it maybe
I know you have a raging bonk on for Edin, along with not wanting RVP (possibly because he'll push Edin further down the pecking order)

But I feel you may be upset by the end of the window

With our style of play 4 forwards is plenty.

Look at last season if you assume 1 unit out of the 4 is injured/suspended then we'd have 3 top strikers to call on. Last season we had Balo bans & Tevez missing which roughly was the equivalent of '1' unit. The game time of Dzeko after the start of the season wasn't enough for him and Balo this next season will probably be less than happy being a regular sub.

If we do get rid of either Tevez or Dzeko we may as well promote Gudetti as a top forward won't want to be kicking heels.

With FFP in mind we should be looking at the areas where we were thin last season and pick up a CH/MID like DDR or Martinez type and leave it at that. For width give Weiss until the new year to see if he can be an impact player. There's little doubt that buying a top winger will be a waste of money as our style of play doesn't lend itself to pure wing play.
