Williams was brought in on a short-term contract and didn't do a particularly good job of clearing out the "deadwood".

We'd have had more joy if we brought in Richard Kuklinski to get rid of one or two of the deadwood.

Why Man City and Van Persie are a perfect match

Excellent read

Surely the time to evaluate this is at the end of the window.

He was brought in last summer, we failed to sell any deadwood and had to make do with loans where we paid the majority of the wages again. Williams isn't here now.

I am now convinced that City will not go higher than £14m for RVP. United, likewise. Buying RVP breaks the rules that both City and United have employed for the last 4 years - i.e. serious money is only spent on players aged 26 or under (for City) and 25 or under (for United). As such, unless Juventus up there offer, RVP will be an Arsenal player all next season.

Sorry LC, I was under the impression he was still here, mate.
