According to my friend he understands that Marwood has intimated that if there is no positive movement before Tuesday then City will move onto alternate targets.

I don't understand this. RVP seemed to me to be an opportunity that Mancini wanted to grab if possible. It it's not going to happen then why are we looking at alternatives. Surely the 4 strikers we have are as good as any out there and all have a mixture of determination and or eccentricity. I hope Marwood is talking of spending elsewhere. We are good up front. IMO we are Only really in need of a top quality CB.

With Chelsea strengthing there squad and now Arsenal with getting in reinforcements those clubs will be closer to us this year making winning the league harder than last year
If we lost Kompany , Yaya ,Silva or Sergio to injury for a few months we would
Be in the shit
We do need to add some players and I have no doubt that the club will bring in the players that we need

Chelsea strengthening squad?????????? Drogba gone, Kalou gone , Lampard a year older. Signings all unknown and unproven in Premier League. Not sure they have strengthened. Aresenal deteriorate year in year out.
I agree with blueyorkie Chelsea have bought 2 good young midfielders and so have arse. It will be harder this year.

Would have loved him here but doesn't look like it will happen, dzeko needs to step t up though he was shocking last season bar the odd game.

moronic post of the year

wonder if it's all a charade to call the rag's season-ticket promotion/bluff, force the price up. Or just to piss them off?
He would strengthen them, so for that reason only i wouldn't mind if we got him, or Juve.

To a degree I agree with you. Although I am a massive RVP fan, I do not feel that he is what we need and I feel that his presence would be more disruptive than productive if we are to keep the 4 that we already have. I would say that Mancini does not seem to trust NDJ so along with a further quality CB we must surely need anoth DM of world renoun. As for the current 4 forwards I feel that we must keep Dzeko, he has the alternate skills that are sometimes required to unlock stubborn deffenses. My only problem is we have seen Carlos pump out positive interviews before and then throw his teddy out the pram and we can't do another 7 months without a full compliment should history repeat itself so another forward either a 5th or a replacement for him should also be high on the list.

utterly pitiful, not only did Edin score a lot of important goals, he changed the whole momentum of a few key games; had he played every game he would have got 25-30 league goals, he is a top player and a top bloke, whwreas greadedupbumboy is a top hat

Chelsea, are a real unkown quantity! If they manage to gel then they could be a real threat, I feel they are a work in progress and that we will see the real Chelsea the season after next. The fact Di-Matteo, was only handed a year contract suggests to me that, they are still not convinced he is the man for them. So if they dont get off to a good start, there could be yet more changes for them!
Arsenal still haven't rectified there problem areas, so yes they may improve but, they havent the squad for a geniune title challenge, in my opinion of coarse.

No, that makes it easier. Those two teams may actually take points of Utd this year, they only took points off us to any extent last season.

Will their 2 midfielders each make them win away at ours? No they won't and we already lost away to them both last season so it's no loss on our points.

Will their new additions mean they could beat Utd at HOME next season? Possibly. So take 4 points off Utd that they amassed last season and things get easier.

See the logic?
