I disagree, I think RVP won't come while Adebayor is still here (they don't get on is an understatement). Ade wants to stall to prevent RVP getting his move. Bobby calls his bluff and says we're no longer in for RVP. Ade panics, thinks he's in reserves for 12 months and drops his ludicrous demands and moves to Tottenham. Next day RVP's here, Dzeko to Juventus, De Jong to Inter and Santa Cruz to Germany (anywhere). Wages down, De Rossi and Agger signed, jobs a good 'un.
What a class post!
If only.
Remember last season boys!! Bobby is playing a game here and only the smart ones can see it..

I don't see how finally being rid of Ade/RSC means we have to swap Edin for an older RVP on more money? I'd prefer us to keep Edin. +64 GD won us the league last season and Edins contribution was invaluable.

RVP would expect first team football even more than Edin. Who else makes way? Sergio/ Tevez?!? (Mario too obviously).

Signing RVP would just cause more unrest in the front ranks and is a big no-need imo.

I think deep down, the likes of RVP, Agger and De Rossi know they can't play every game (age & physical condition). They will have been targeted with this in mind in addition to their CL experience. Edin wants to play every week and can't get that here. This is my reasoning.

Obviously Mancini felt he could accommodate RVP or else he wouldn't have been in for him.

Also, hypothetically if we'd have had RVP last year, it's arguable that the league wouldn't have gone down to GD.

Its also equally hypothetical that if we had Tevez for all of last season we wouldn't have gone down to GD.

I think we'd go along way to find a better striker than a fully fit and focussed Tevez and i'm presuming that Mancini is convinced enough that the penny has finally dropped with Tevez.

Aguero, Tevez, a more mature Mario and lets try and give Edin another season to see if he can force his way into the starting line up and I really can't see many other teams matching that combination up front. We need a backup for Yaya desperately in my opinion and that should be our number one target.

All true. But difficult to see a top player coming to sit on the bench.

I wouldn't swap what we currently have for any other side in the premiership.

We have off loaded players who didn't play in any premiership games last season.

Of course I would like a bit more security for VK and Yaya and a bit more width out wide with class because AJ again will be an impact player this season at best.

If we get that it will top us off nicely but I don't see Chelsea , Manure , and Spurs bringing in much premiership experience if any to date and if anything they have lost players over the summer that have.

Bobby's always playing games but we won't get RvP now. He would though have been an upgrade on Dzeko and you only have to look at the GB cycling team to see the importance of marginal gains. However, we do have a more than acceptable set of strikers and have much greater need in other areas; primarily centre back, regista and a winger with pace (but not Sinclair).

Mancini just has to be smart on how he uses our current crop of strikers.

We won't have them all available each week.

Refs , injuries etc will see to that.

I wouldn't swap any of them for RVP as good as he has been last season.
