I like Rvp as a player but would no way get rid of Dzeko to buy him,Dzeko will be an asset in time and very useful to have in the squad.

-- Sat Aug 11, 2012 4:31 pm --

I'd trade him for Cavani though!

I'd trade him for Cavani though!

A fit and firing Dzeko will be pivotal to our title defence this season and our progress in Europe.

Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

Same applies to Mario.

I doubt we would have got over QPR at home last season without them.

RVP would demand more playing time than Dzeko. Even Dzeko wants to play more but he will play less than last year so his "happiness" is going down big time this season.

We had Tevez out for 4-5 months when Dzeko was many times our second striker.

This season he is between 3rd and 4th striker. That will mean less playing time for him. If there is no major injury for Tevez or Agüero.

Balo is rated very high by Mancini, can see Balo getting more important role in the team another sign of Dzeko getting less playing time.

We could of course play three strikers with Tevez dropping more into Yaya's advance midfield role. Whether that would work or not I leave to the more tactically aware posters.

Dzeko is OK as a squad player, no point selling as you'd make a big loss on the 27m, not worth it. With Tevez available you have no pressing need for a forward, regardless of whether they will outscore what you have.

I wouldn't swap what we currently have for any other side in the premiership.

We have off loaded players who didn't play in any premiership games last season.

Of course I would like a bit more security for VK and Yaya and a bit more width out wide with class because AJ again will be an impact player this season at best.

If we get that it will top us off nicely but I don't see Chelsea , Manure , and Spurs bringing in much premiership experience if any to date and if anything they have lost players over the summer that have.
With respect coz of course your allowed an opinion, but Mancini clearly thinks differently and is vexed to the point of frustration at our lack of transfer activity. His qoute from yesterday's first interview was I'm not happy. That concerns me even if you and ten thousand more think we are set well.

Dzeko kept us in the FA Cup when we won it 2 seasons ago, and he scored a vital goal in the last game of the season plus another 13. Averaged 1 goal in 2. No pens and your not first choice. Yes he's a Champions squad player

Thread descends into Dzeko>>>>> RVP or RVP>>>>>>>Dzeko discussion for the umpteenth time. Just waiting for the stats bit now :-)

I'd take Adebayor over Dzeko in all honesty. RVP is in another league altogether, that's no disgrace though. RVP is right up there with top forwards around Europe.
