robin van persie (continued)

I prefer to believe he's taking 200k aweek off the rags for four years. Sounds better to know that he's costing them 65/66million that they can't afford, not to mention the unrest it could cause amongst other players.

Well now we know why they needed to take money off Chevrolet up-front two years before the shirt deal actually kicks in.

Top marks for effort though.
They'd be playing that on RedCafe if we'd have signed him. Tis funny though.

why are we all quoting £24mil? Its £35m with salary - thats what would be said about us
£65m with salary - unless the reports of £200k for 4 years were wrong

May I just drop this in...

The bottom line is that I want to win trophies with Arsenal, not with anybody else. I know you can win trophies in many countries and in many ways, but I want to do that in our way and in an Arsenal shirt.

‘I’m sure I could win things at another team in another country, but would it feel like our trophy, my trophy? I’m not sure it would. Anything we win here will come from the heart and that’s what I want. It’s my dream and I see no point in speaking about other teams when I have these dreams. I think other people know that about me; I’m just hungry to win with Arsenal and that’s it – Robin van Persie, February 2011

But it's starting to dawn on them that they aren't going to win anything with Arsenal. You can't blame him when he's seen the supposedly over-the-hill Kolo Toure leave and win medals.

Fair point, but he really should have kept his mouth shut then and not have thinly veiled pops at other players for leaving.

Make no mistake, the Dark Side are stronger with RVP.
Yes, but Rooney and Welbeck weren't the weak link were they?

Leaves the full back positions exposed, with Rio, Scholes and Giggs still key squad players

I agree, was just dropping it in, Clichy said
something about how he would never play for City back in 2009 and to me he was the happiest man alive after the QPR game.

I don't beeeeeelieve it!!!

Think this is a big mistake by us and will bite us on the arse!

Rooney and RVP!!

We might hold them out but i dont think many other teams will!!

And before anyone goes on about our strikeforce just look at sunday we totally dominated did not score then Chelsea had one chance which fell to Torres who smashed it the net!

We could done with a one chance one goal striker like RVP!

Dont normally do this but I hope RVP gets injured against everton next monday night!

Shush!!! Don't give the game away.

Its not a big mistake by us nor did we lose out to United!

We enquired about him they valued him to high so we didnt bother!

Would you buy a tv for 50 grand knowing its days were numbered?

Van Persie moving from Arsenal to the rags won't effect us too much imo. The player stays in the league at one of our main rivals. Rags problem last season wasn't really scoring goals, it was conceding them and losing midfield battles against hard working and technically adept teams like Newcastle. This is a transfer which, whichever way you look at it, smacks of desperation on their part to be seen to be reacting to losing the league to City. Personally I look forward to City winning the league again and the drunken Scot's subsequent resignation.

If city had signed him which striker would make way ?, Tevez has the hunger back and Sergio is Sergio then there is a back up striker in Mario who was one of the best at Euro 2012 ...... we need a center half, playmaking midfielder and a left winger before another striker .......

That's it, take the ribbons off the trophy, sell all our players, scrap the brilliant academy plans. In fact liquidate the club. I'm off to watch the cricket. Pointless being a fan of City if United can buy players.

The team with the best defence usually wins the league. This is why we urgently need to buy a top quality centre back to replace Savic.
