robin van persie (continued)

From the beeb:

More from Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson on Robin van Persie's imminent move to Manchester United: "He is on his way up from London for a medical later this afternoon. We hope that goes according to plan. His agent is in discussions with David Gill [United's chief executive] right about now.

"We hope all the things will be tied up, although sometimes medicals do take a bit longer. I am sure he will be available for Monday's game.

"In 1999 I had Dwight Yorke, Andy Cole, Teddy Sheringham and Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the four best strikers in Europe. We are going towards that now with Javier Hernandez, Wayne Rooney, Robin, Danny Welbeck and Shinji Kagawa.

"It is a fantastic collection of players and hopefully I pick the right combinations".

You can only laugh.

Not one of them was individually better than Shevchenko, Batistuta, Raul, or Vieri.

I wonder if van Persie and Heitinga get on when they play for Holland...

If not, you know what to do John!

Not even the best four in Manchester

Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli, Dzeko > Rooney, Rvp, Hernandez and Welbeck.

Nice to see his treatment of Dimitar too.

He has quite frankly lost what little sanity he had left if he thinks those four are even close to being the best four strikers in europe as someone else said they arent the best four in manchester.

They had to give him 200K/week to get him signed? HAHA oh how the mighty have fallen.
He was on 85k at arsenal. So he got more than 100% raise as well. Looks like he has a good agent that can guarantee him that kind of wage for 4 years with his injury record
