"Robinho going NOWHERE" Garry Cook [Merged]

Re: Barcelona set to loan Robinho [Merged]

Lads the article on Sky does say that the Spanish media are reporting it and use words like rumoured and possible. It's obviously BS Robson himself described us as "my club" this week and said he wants to see Herman here.
If we do land Tevez I suspect Robbie will be one of the happiest people conected with City about it. Plus the Spanish media are worse then ours and thats saying something!.

I did the best I could to trace the TV3 story for a source, my catalan is non existent so have relied on a translator but this seems to be from the TV3 source. (No quotes and if my maths is correct they are out on the salary as well ?)

Spanish Radio were also saying we'd signed Ronaldinho aswell iirc.

I'll be gutted if he goes. Favourite player and all that but i support City - not Robinho FC so if he goes then meh...I'm sure we'll bring a replacement in, one that might benefit the team a little bit more.

Makes you wonder if there is a fair bit of truth to it, Petrov suddenly declaring to stay and Elano's agent angling for a move - could be because his buddy is off?

Just think it sends out the wrong kind of messages personally if we do sell him let alone let him go on loan.

no toys out of prams here.

let's be realistic. He didn't decide he wanted to join city so much as he decided to leave real. Hughes didn't choose him. He has performed very well in the most part. He is pure class, and we all love the tricks and goals. He's won us a few games. He doesnt show much stomach for the fight. He has been awful at times. He attracts publicity, good and bad. He doesnt seem like a team player. As for his commitment to the club, deciphering his comments and all the stories floating about would require a thread of it's own.

I believe that his contract with the club is probably not as tight as many people appear to think, as it was rushed through. He could well have several escape clauses.

I think Mark Hughes is not particularly enamoured by his behaviour this year, the attention and publicity that he attracts, and may well have had enough of the brazillian connection full stop.

So, if he was to go, it might make MH's job easier. Wether it turned out to be good for the club would only become apparent over time: 1st, if we could replace him with other top class players, and 2nd, how the team and club progressed next year. Anyone who says it would automatically be a disaster is guilty of throwing their toys out of the pram. I hope we all want success more than we want superstars.

Whilst that is all well argue success usually only comes with the best players in the world. We all admire teams like Everton who fight above their weight devision but lets face it are they scuccessful? In the sense they are playing at the best of their ability but will they realistically challenge for the title? No. It is vital you have players such as Robinho in order to win and challenge for titles because they are the ones who make the difference. Robinho can whinge and whine all he wants and party all night, if he gets us to the champions league I dont care.

Yeah people tend to put more faith in 'foreign news sources' and i'm not sure why. Jeez even i have in the past. Probably is about as reliable as Talksport.

I agree with that post, I just think people should be prepared for the possibilty, and not let themselves be starstruck. What matters to me most of all is that we are a team next year, on and off the pitch. I'd sacrifice anything to get the type of spirit and cohesiveness that Everton, Liverpool, Chelsea display.

Re: Barcelona set to loan Robinho [Merged]

Just noticed the article saying we offered him to Barca. Can't see that happening when we'll be using the fact we have Robinho as one of our marketing tools to other potential signings.
