Robinho or Bellamy?

So if the facts dont suit your agenda you just dismiss them?
The title of the thread is Robinho or Bellamy, yes? Therefore, seeing as Bellamy was only at the club for the second half of last season, and was injured for part of that, I would be more interested in how our players are currently performing, not how they did 6, 9 or 12 months ago. And in the few games Rob did play this season prior to his injury, he didn't pull up any trees for me. But then those facts don't suit your agenda either, do they?

I dont have an agenda against ANY of the City players!

Bellamy has done very well this season, I just dont agree with your assesment of Robbie.

For me Robbie is the best player in our squad, that was the point I was trying to make.

I think some people are seriously over rating bellamy. He works hard but as an attacking threat he really does have his limits in that kick and chase is his only tool. he hasnt got the vision to spot a pass and can be a bit selfish with the ball

As I said in a post on page 10; " He is a very good player (on his day), and perhaps even our most skillful, but not our most effective." I hardly think that's an "agenda" against Robbie, as you hinted at in a previous post. I don't have any agenda against any of our players. Indeed, I was in a minority on here backing Bellamy when he signed for us and a lot on here did have an agenda against him. I have no doubt whatsoever that Robinho has more skill and flair than Craig does. Craig might even admit as much himself. My point is who has been the more effective for us in their appearances this season. What they did in previous seasons doesn't really help us at this moment in time, does it? I would love to see Rob stay, knuckle down (Stevie style) and show us just what he can offer us without going missing in games. We need all our quality players to stay, and Rob is one. We all want what's best for our club, even if we have differing opinions on who can best help us achieve that.

Thats it. But as proved by a previous poster in this thread, several people think if you don't think the sun shines out of Robbies arse, then you must hate him.

He's obviously got the ability and skill, but he doesn't put it into practice often enough, which is why he, at the moment, isn't City's best player (And no, I don't think it's Bellamy either).

Obviously Robi is a very good player! He has some great skills, he keeps the ball blue, he doesnt panic and he is also an accomplished finisher in front of goal! However Bellamy brings something extra that Robi doesnt have, and might never have! Against Arsenal Bellamy was getting back and filling in at left back if Bridge went forward - and he wasnt just filling in there, he actually did very well - he also helped out inside when Arsenal were getting on top of us in midfield! Bellamy is quicker than Robi too! But this post not a dig at Robi as a footballer, i actually love him and am delighted when i see the lad running up n down the pitch in our shirt! But on current form no matter if Robi is fit or not i just cannot see how we can drop Bellamy! Long term Robi could do well for us but i think to be successful in our team and in this league he seriously is going to have to add that extra desire and effort into his game!

Fair post, thought it was funny that an Arsenal fan was saying we played Bellers and SWP as wing backs despite them both scoring, testament to their work rate. You don't get that from Robby but you get other things, I imagine if Robbie was playing we would have kept the ball longer. Its difficult to argue when Bellers has been as good as he has.

Based on the amount of games played for us who have you preferred and why?

Soz if already been posted.

CTID

Robinho!!!! based on the amount of games he's played for us and how I love to watch football, the passing game, Robbie is 25 with his best years in front of him. I can't compare that to Bellamy, he's 30 and has a dodgy knee and could be out for months, even though he is doing great at the moment it will always prevent me from saying I would prefer him.
Last season we beat Arsenal 3-0 at home.

Yeah, he just puts it into the back of the net........

Bellamy is actually severely underrated.

He's not there to 'spot a pass' ,his job is to get on the end of things and finish.

I'd personally start Bellers every game , he's top man Robinho never shows half the passion or committment Bellers shows everytime he pulls the Blue shirt on . Robinho is lazy and most games when he plays if the game isnt going as he would like it he drops the head we need players that show the passion and committment of Bellers and Stevie Ireland then we'll have a team ready to challenge for trophies . Bellers has the potential to be King Of The Blues for years to comes . Hope he continues scoring especially tomorrow nite against the Cockneys and keeps us where we belong at the top of the league .

I can't understand why people keep referring to last season. I could refer to us drawing at Blackburn and losing at Portsmouth (the most pitiful performance?) last season, but that's pointless and achieves nothing. Last season has gone; it's time to move on. Also, I don't understand the Arsenal reference; haven't we also beaten them this season as well?
