Rodri solution

Most likely scenario for DM till january is a double pivot.

Rico/Kova
Rico/Gundo
Rico/Stones/Bernardo
Gvardiol could play there when Ake is back
There's also Nunes and O'Reilly

Is there a deal to be struck ie Larsson, Locatelli, Zubimendi who have cheap prices then yes.

Obviously a huge blow to lose him, no point pretending otherwise. But we should be ok with Kovacic or Gundogan - provided we protect them by not giving them huge spaces to cover.

FWIW I‘d aim to go back to sth like we had at the end of the treble season:

——-—-——Ederson————
—--Akanji—Dias—Ake / Gvardiol ——
——Stones-Gundogan / Kova
Foden-Bernardo-De Bruyne-Grealish
——-———-Haaland———-

Prioritise control and avoiding quick counters. If we‘re under the cosh at any point, Stones can drop back and play as an orthodox centre half with Bernardo joining Gundogan/Kovacic.

We’re already down to only 14 outfield players and 2 more (McAtee and Nunes) that Guardiola hasn’t thought fit to fully utilise. We’re either going to have to make do and mend, rotating whomever is available per game, or Nunes is going to have to be trusted. I don’t think it’s a coincidence that we’ve lost 3 senior players to non-contact injuries- all three had no real pre-season, so relying on Stones could be hugely risky.

Stones alternates good and not so good seasons. Last season wasn't good, so maybe this one will be really good.

Pep has no choice but to play Nunes more. The good thing with Nunes is that he can be utilized in several positions, i.e., midfield and wings.

I think a lot of people will be pleasantly surprised with Nunes this season.

Outside of the obvious think Ake would work as a DM. He's physical enough and has an eye for a pass in more forward positions as we saw a few times last season.

Nico O'Reily of course could be used to give some cover, particularly if we are cruising in a match, sub him on for the last 20 mins.

I think it will be Bernardo and one of kova and Gundogan in a double pivot
