True & most winners show their appreciation to other teammates unless your name is Ronaldo.
However, some players deserve the accolade for their personal achievements on the pitch & the ability to do something other players haven't.

The unbeaten run he achieved of 74 games was incredible. Almost all players have ups & downs in their quality of play but not Rodri, his high level of consistancy for club & country has been exceptional which not many players have the mentality & physicality to do.

Rodri fully deserves the acknowledgement by his fellow players.
 
The only saving grace would be Vinicius accepting the award knowing they got beat 4-0 at home by arch rivals Barcelona the weekend before.

Unfortunately like most of that madrid squad he doesnt have the self awareness to understand why that should humble him.
