Rodri - The 2024 Ballon d'Or Winner! (Pg 131)

It's been nearly 24hrs and I still can't believe a City players has won this award.
I never thought back in the shitty years that City would be the best run club in world football.
The best team in world of football.
The best manager in world of football.
The best campus in world of football
The best owners in world of football.

But not just in football, the work our club has done in East Manchester, the regeneration of that area.

The red cartel in the pl are on their knees.

Now one of the European cartel clubs has thrown a strop behaved like a right mardyarse.

God I love this club, what a ride we are having.

Well done City I feel this award, yes it's great for Rodri but also great for the rest of the squad.

Fun fact - when growing up in Liberia in the 1970s, George Weah was a childhood City fan. United fans tried to claim it was a bollocks story once he'd signed for us but his comments can be traced back to an interview in a football magazine when he was still playing for AC Milan which was years before we signed him.

As for his time at City, well sadly it was short-lived but he was in the twilight of his career and we were never going to see the best of him. I do think Joe Royle - as well as he served our club as both player and manager - has to take some of the blame for that. The story goes that Weah politely tried to make a suggestion at half-time of one particular game and Royle told him to fuck off! He seemed to struggle with foreign egos, falling out with Weah, Wanchope, and Kinkladze at various times during his managerial career with us.
Don't think he could cope with us singing to bring the goat off the bench rather than him.

Back in March, this was the Ballon d’Or Power Ranking:

Vinicius Jr wasn’t even in the running.

Come the end of the season, here are the average ratings per match for the top ten players in the world:

Again, V.Jr nowhere near.
This was the third year since the rules changed and voting was based on the season rather than the year. So based on stats above no wonder Vini was nowhere near! Of the top 5 Rodri added a Euro win. Bellingham added a CL win.

They obviously mean Haaland not winning it last year.

Yeah they basically report every comment made by Brazil media but kind of loosely spin it as impartial. I wonder if the winner played for the rags or dips would Madrid have been so upset? I doubt they would.
