Rodrigo Hernandez - Atletico confirm deal - p192

To be fair, and whilst I don’t think Stones is going... he hasn’t established himself in the way Laporte has. Stones seems to get in the team starts to build momentum and then for one reason or another things grind to a halt - usually due to injury and he has to start again. In the run in Pep seemed a lot less inclined to rotate and those out of the team found chances to break into the team harder. I wouldn’t rule out Stones going but I think it’s highly unlikely and I’m not sure we’d get any more for him than Maguire would cost - so why bother.
You replied to the wrong thread pal?

There is a buyout clause ? Unless otamendi is going the other way

Yerri Mina

The cost of the transfer was €11.8 million, and his release clause was set at €100 million.

But one year later, he was sold to Everton for €30 million .

Rodrigo Hernández remains high on the list of Bayern's priorities. Atlético Madrid have already been informed of Bayern's interest, and an exchange regarding the plans of Bayern with the player has taken place. Man City remain the strongest competitor for Rodri's signing [Kicker]

Hope we don't miss out on another def midfield target, running out of options soon.

We will do, we dont seem to be pushing it

Rhodri doesn’t exactly seem desperate to join does he? Hard decision I can understand but normally a few days talking to family etc is more than enough and when he first heard about the offer in a few minutes he’s either keen to talk and take it further or stay where he is?

Laporte suffered similar quandaries, as did Delph. If it happens, it will happen in its own good time.

One way of looking at it; if a company offered you double your current salary on a 5 year contract, would you uproot your settled family, and follow the Drachma or Lira (€)?

Personally I've been in a similar situation, but I didn't want to uproot my young family to the other side of the world. You have to walk a mile in Rhodri's boots, before you can fully understand the complexities of his dilemma.

Absolutely spot on. Nice to see a realistic view, although I dont suspect it will pacify the knicker wetters who only see black and white

Excellent post, and what he and other players may also be considering is that Pep has basically two years left at the club.
Yes we need cover but there will be those who need to know what the long term plans are for them.
Look at Jorghinio at Chelsea. He was the pivot in Sarri's system but he may be surplus to requirements now he's gone. And with a transfer ban (currently) the Chavs aint gonna let another player leave, just because they'll need numbers.
That could be Rhodri's predicament.
