I’m sorry, but reducing a player to “big unit” as if that’s all they are is just not the kind of conversation I want to have. You stick to your point and I’ll stick to mine
I watched him play in the PL for years and he was bang average! He isn’t the most mobile player and our philosophy is all about mobility… him getting some decent numbers at Inter (against Benevento, Sassuolo and Genoa etc) does nothing to convince me he’s now a different player! As I said, he’s bang average and does nothing to improve our team. (This is all my opinion and you’re entitled to yours, just not so entitled that you get to call others bullshit because it jars with your opinion)

I don’t know what your reasoning for this is, but I’m sure that if I heard it, I would say it applies to Kane as well, and possibly more so
his reasoning is that he's stuck in 2018 and hasn't bothered developing his preconceived notion of what footballers are good and bad, especially ex-rag ones.

Just above me he starts by saying "I watched him in the PL for years". Just your average football fan, nothing is dynamic, players don't get better.

Personally, my order is Haaland > Lukaku > Kane

Getting any of them is a big win, but the positives I see with Lukaku are:

1) Cheapest out of all 3, even though he said he wants to stay at Inter, I'm sure if City offered them 80m, Inter could be tempted to it due to their financial problems. Kane and Haaland seem unreasonable in that regard.

2) He is a big unit that's for sure, but he is also surprisingly fast and a good dribbler, advantages over Kane (and probably Haaland).

3) His passing is pretty good, not Kane good, but I think good enough for a "Pep Team" (that loses more meaning every year).

4) His ability to drift to the wings is more suited than Kane or Haaland (for now), Kane is better at dropping deep and playing as a 10, but I don't think we need that as much, we have so many players who can play as a 10

5) The obvious one, he and KdB are around the same age and know each other's game well enough at the international level.

Edit: I think there is a good idea in playing Torres or Jesus next to Lukaku and have them play a similar role like Lautaro at Inter. Could suit both those players if they don't have to play as a "real" lone striker, but in a more flexible system where they can drift wide and drop deep.

------------------------Ferran/Jesus----------------Lukaku------------------
Foden-----------------Gundogan----------------KdB---------------------Cancelo/Sterling
------------------------------------------Rodri
------------Laporte/Ake------------Dias---------------Stones/Walker

No, they just start playing against poorer opposition!

Listen mate I don't know what team you have been watching this season, but we really don't "press like maniacs" for the most part!
Basically, stuck with an antiquated view of Lukaku... and of us. Lol

Impressed with Lukaku for Belgium he has improved since he left the Rags , i know because of his scum connections he will not be accepted by many but he looks like the player we desperatley need , a plan B when are intricate passing game isnt working. He's a big unit but i wouldnt be averse to watching him in a blue shirt next season ,scoring thirty goals and winding the Rags up with a Premier league title medal round his neck next season

Antiquated view? Are you having a laugh.. he left United less than 2 years ago, when he was 26 - not exactly developmental years! His record in the PL is good, if not great, and so I’m not suggesting he’s a bad player… but to suggest that he has now gone away and transformed into an entirely different player is nonsense! He is a decent striker, nothing more and he does nothing to improve our team. Plus he’s a rag!
