He’s like a bulldozer when he gets into his stride, big, powerful and a lot quicker than he was when in the U.K.
That said he plays at his best when he’s given the room to work in and that rarely happens with us. He’s not at his best in tight spaces and where he’s required to keep the ball moving, he’s very much an old school number 9.
I like him as a player, he’s come on leaps and bounds since leaving utd and we could do worse. He’s be down my own list of Aguero replacements but he’d be on it.
Regards last nights game, I’m not sure how anybody can say with a straight face that he was brilliant. The first half was like watching somebody who had stumbled onto the pitch without ever kicking a ball before!
Second half was much improved obviously and he played his part in the opener with the type of speed and strength that makes him so dangerous.
Wouldn’t rule out him coming but like I say, it’d only be if our top targets aren’t possible.

Don’t worry, if he came to Manchester he’ll soon be back on the steak pudding chips peas and gravy, sticky toffee pudding and custard and be three stone overweight before you know it.
Sure I read somewhere that he had a severe intestinal problem at one time which made him pile on weight.

Hes not any quicker just fitter so sharper.

Too slow for me and doesn’t read the game well enough. I think he’s a decent CM nothing special but I think he’d be a less than decent CB
I hear you mate, I agree with a lot of what you say, I find myself cursing him when watching him play, I actually think his strongest attribute is heading, which comes in handy when playing as a center half lol!! But yeah I have huge doubts that he will become the player we thought he would when we first bought him

Lukaku is one of those strikers that will always split opinion. He goes from one extreme to the other, sometimes in a matter of seconds. If he rocked up at City, I expect he would have a similar thread to Sterling. Some would bemoan his bad touch, his poor ball retention etc. Others would point to the fact he has just scored 30 goals and is the Prems top goal scorer.

For me, in the list of the 3 main striker options, he would be bottom of my list but its not a bad list to come 3rd on. If its a choice between Lukaku and either someone like Ings, or another season of playing no real striker, then get Lukaku signed up.

It'd be like the Džeko thread all over again, although mercifully sans Bosnian fanboys

Yep good point, players like Sterling, Lukaku and even the diving rodent over at the other place are similar in that they are nowhere near the elite technically yet they somehow still manage to put up elite numbers on a regular basis. This makes up for their flaws and justifies their selection.
The problem comes when those elite numbers dry up, like Raheem this year. Then their limitations in other areas are brutally exposed.
