Kev was much younger, with a manager who didnt rate him at Chelsea so that argument doesnt stand up. I cant believe City fans want this clumsy lump up front for us. The PL is much harder than the Italian league.
he couldn't control a wet bag of cement 2 seasons ago and although he may of improved since , i really haven't seen enough of him in the last few years to judge , can a player improve their technical ability from what he was to what we need in two years ?

Crikey this thread has it all going on, namecallin galore, racists/cunts/gobshites some folk needs to relax a bit maybe go for a walk?
As for Lukaku, hes shite, going to italy and banging in double figures in a season dosent make him anywhere near what we should be attaining to. Hes got a touch like an elephant and his link up play is well off, how folk think that would fit into citys style of play is beyond me.
*no offence meant to any elephants browsing the pages

You know what, he’s probably all what you say, but given the lack of strikers available, despite all that he’d still be a better option than Ings, relying on Torres to magically turn into his namesake during the Liverpool phase or even worse, no striker at all.

From my point of view I’d rather Lukaku than nothing, though I desperately hope we sign Haaland or Kane.

Too slow? I can't have that, he is pure power, needs a few meters to get up to speed but when he does he is devastating.
Sorry are we saying Lukaku is too slow or Rodri. The former I’d agree once he’s moving is power and pace the latter has one speed

The Lukaku at Everton was a cracking player and caused us problems a few times. But then his game was about being on the shoulder of the last man and using his pace, which was how he played for Belgium last night. Haven't seen him for Inter to say how he plays there. Maureen tried to play him how he'd used Drogba, as a big man up front, playing direct to him and him holding it up to bring others in. Worked about as well as when we tried getting Dzeko to do it.

My concern with Lukaku (& Kane and Haaland or anyone else) is whether he's the right sort of player against a packed defence. He'd certainly improve us on the break, but when there's a defence just sat in, is he the sort of player who can open it up? I think any player who attacks the best post will cause issues, especially if we go back to the pass inside the fullback for the winger to roll across the 6yd box.

So it's a maybe from me, mainly because I haven't seen him against the type of defences we face

To try get back on topic, Lukaku is going to cost almost as much as Kane… I don’t think he should be on our radar at all! He has improved since leaving United, but enough to warrant spending £70-90m on him, definitely not! If Kane isn’t attainable, then we should go with what he have or maybe get Ings or someone like Daka.
