Saints seem be holding out for 50 all in. Think he'll move though, Liverpool will pay up.

Even at 50m, Saints only get 40m, because they pay us 20%. So we could offer 41m and it would exceed Liverpool's offer. Which is 1m more than the clause next year.

But it would depend on the player wanting to come back, and the club wanting him back. Neither of which I think is there myself. Which is why I think he will end up at Liverpool.

Think we signed Ake on similar terms, Chelsea having a clause iirc?

It does make you wonder under what scenario we would trigger the clause/use the sell on fee as a method to resign a player. 19 years of age, showed great promise that the likes of Chelsea/Liverpool wish to sign him.

I'll be disappointed if he ends up at Liverpool tbh :(
Its a good move for him, whatever we think of them its a big step forward in his career. whether he is quite ready for it time will tell.

Losing Henderson & Fabinho is massive for them. The defense will be more exposed and they are in transition upfront too. He could be the scapegoat if early results dont go well

Of course, it is a good move for him, I didn't want him sold and Phillips bought which is why I'll be disappointed and we potentially improve a rival of sorts.
