Really?? 1 League, 2 Domestic cups and 3 Charity Shield equivalents?

You could also say that most of Mancini's success came when Inter's main rivals were either docked points, relegated and sold their best players. IIRC Inter's main rivals were Roma and I'm sure Inter was given a title due to the scandal.

I am not in anyway trying to say that Koeman is a better manager than Mancini. I'm just pointing out that what a manager has previously won is not the most important aspect of what he will bring to the team. Lets face it if it was then Mancini would never have got the job in the first place.

What an absolute load of ill conceived bollocks that post is!

You think Mancini's consistent record of success in one of Europe's top leagues wasn't a vital factor in him getting the City job?

And you think Mancini's record was not that impressive in Italy?

Even given the match-fixing scandal which weakened the pool of opposition during Inter's first title winning season, he then went on to win 2 further titles on the bounce, aswell as 2 Coppa Italia (on the bounce), and 2 Italian Super Cups (on the bounce).

This after having guided unfashionable Fiorentina to the 2000-01 Coppa Italia, and Lazio to the same trophy in 2003-04.

Even given the relegations and points deductions of some of his rivals in two of the seasons during his 8 years of management in Italy, his field of competition was still FAR stronger than anything Koeman has encountered in the Dutch league.

Their is no comparison between the level of success achieved by Mancini & Koeman, and to suggest there is betrays your lack of understanding of the strength of the respective leagues.

I'd even go as far as to suggest that you're on the wind up if these are truly your opinions on the matter. If, however, you are serious, then as someone has said above, you're an idiot & your opinion doesn't count!!!

Exactly Vonks, Mancini, has an excellent record and money, or not, has won trophies in two distinctly different leagues, in terms of style and culture, only Jose has a comparable record.

I think the problem is the unrelenting speculation

Yes it is funny if you remove the second half of the sentence and play it for laughs. Which as I said is pretty much becoming your only means of expressing yourself.

Just like Picasso had his Neo-Classical Period, I am having my own "comedy period". It's just a phase I'm going through. Don't worry Billy, it's all still in that big brain of mine, waiting to get out. ;-)

I read the, article and my first thought was that he,was being touted for a role in the backroom staff somewhere, not as a replacement for RM........

Getting a bit boring now all this new manager speculation.I still think Mancini will be are manager next season.

if you need an example of the dum media speculation sky currently say they understand di mateo is "unlikely" to go to reading.duh you think, he just won the champions league so of course he might consider reading.

So there are rumours Jose could end up back at Chelsea

And now all of sudden speculation on here turns back to Pellegrini.

Is this just going to be a never ending "Anyone but Mancini" thread?
Looks like we've moved on to the next one, for today at least

Koeman has done well at Feyenoord but like Laudrup, Valverde, and others being linked with us offers little that we don't seem to already have with Mancini, and such a high risk appointment could set us back. Of course they could turn out to be revelations too, but is this really a risk worth taking at this stage of our development?

If one of these managers really does wind up at the club it'll be the first time I've questioned Soriano and Begiristain as it'll make me think they just don't like Mancini and are willing to bring in a B/C grade manager just to get rid of him, since the A graders don't seem to be available (except Mourinho who they also don't like).

Now if Mourinho, Klopp, or someone like that was brought in I'd find it hard to complain, but not one of these managers recently linked to us has a better pedigree than Mancini (albeit they've typically had fewer resources but again the risk factor - how would they do WITH the resources, etc.?).

I don't think its a matter of disliking Mancini, I think its a matter of them both have different visions for the club and may not be able to work together.

Mancini has been quite outspoken in saying that he does not see Sorriano and Txiki above him and I just think Mancini is just too stubborn a manager to work with people like them two.

Also Mancini has many traits that Mourinho has and the fact the Spanish duo don't want Jose speaks volumes to me, combined with the fact that we are being linked with a new manager every day.

What is for certain we need everyone working together to go forward and all this talk of Bobby's future is not helping the cause.

Sorriano and Txiki are not going anywhere soon and if sacking Mancini and bringing in Valvarde, Pellegrini or Laudrup allows Txiki perform like he did at Barca then so be it.
