Having watched and enjoyed this wonderful forum from afar for the past how many years I thought it time I opened my mouth and said hello and to confirm there will/is gonna be a bid of 110 million to Madrid for ronaldo from us..along with bids for iniesta and dani alves .. Those the 3 names that were on the wishlist which was taken to Abu dhabi few weeks back..my source is a big hitter within the club and has been right with everything told to me over the past few years he's been there..now you can all begin with your rag comments towards me..thanks..

£110m bid for Ronaldo? I don't think that would be a good idea.

For a start, there are the regulations we have to comply to, this would possibly make it quite a bit harder to meet them. As there isn't only the fee, but his massive wages as well. Once we'd got rid of all the 'deadwood', our wage situation probably wouldn't be any better off than before, if worse.

Also, why risk a backlash from the fans? I get the feeling quite a lot of people wouldn't want Ronaldo here, including myself, if things didn't quite go to plan after we signed him, the management could be putting themselves at risk of losing the respect of fans, which could create a negative mood around the club and effect performances. Why would you go for him when there are other, cheaper options available who could still do a great job. For example, Sanchez (maybe).

And, we'd be helping a Champions League rival with even more funds to strengthen their squad and win the Champions League. Although, I suppose, on the other hand, they've spent big money already in the last couple of seasons that hasn't won them the Champions League, or even La Liga.

Im very much in the fuck FFPR camp as we just can not afford to stop now, in fact we need to really go for it.

We have the first trophy and we have CL football so fuck it, lets go for it big time.

Not that i think that FFPR will survive anyway as it will be dragged through the courts at the first time of asking if not by a club, then definitely by a player or players who will be denied the big money moves and money that they currently enjoy.

Huge sponsorship deals will soon be rolled out to cover any potential shortfalls, Platini wont ban anybody from his competitions and the lawyers will soon be ripping this up in the European courts anyway on behalf of the world best players.

Buying any player for 100+ mil is totally mad. Loose that player to injury for a few months and you're screwed.

For that amount we could by three awesome players, or two plus a few other really good ones.
