Roninho return (merged)

Re: If Robinho returned would you give him the support he needs?

Any player putting on the blue shirt of city deserves every fans support regardless of off field antics.

Re: Robinho returning theories

We'll just have to disagree then.

The best players I've ever watched in my life; the ones who would win you games out of nothing like C. Ronaldo, Kinkladze, Maradona, Ronaldinho, Romario, Real Ronaldo, even guys like Gazza and Hagi, all had a single thing in common; they basically swanned around the pitch, sticking the odd foot out but rarely breaking a sweat until the ball was at their feet.

BUT, when they got the ball, they did spectacular things that created moments of magic out of nothing.

There are certain players that are luxury players, who you overlook the small faults of to gain the HUGE positives.

No less than an authority than the late Sir Bobby Robson explained this in his book, when talking about Romario at PSV, and said that there are just some players who you just put on the pitch and let them be the artists that they are. Robinho is one of those players.

Robinho is one of those players that makes this game beautiful.

Re: Robinho returning theories

1) He achieved what he wanted guaranteed place in team so he would make squad for World Cup.

2) Continued to receive his wages whether we contributed or not.

3) Santos cannot afford his wages.

4) Santos cannot pay us what we paid Real for him

5) Barca would be his last option over a year ago he expressed a wish to play for them. However Barca have their sights fixed on other targets.

6) If he comes back to ours he still deserves our full support and NO BOOiNG.

7) He will have to conform to Bertos ways because if he doesn't he wont get anywhere near first team.

8) I have no doubt he will use the excuse that his words were wrongly translated or taken out of context.

9) No other team on the planet beside Chelsea can afford him given current economic climate.

10) Talented individual who I thought might have grown up and matured into one of the best strikers in the world.

Joey Barton?

Re: Roninho drops return hint

Can see that Stevie Irelands game would improve if he did return, seemed to me he and Robinho seemed to click when on the field together.

With our current squad.

AJ Barry Ireland Robinho

Ade Tevez.

Only problem is as always it would leave left back exposed because Robinho cannot track back and cover.

If Robinho plays for City again, I'd play him behind the front two. Out wide he gets marginalised.

That's why I think we should put him further forward where he dosen't have to

AJ ---- de Jong ---- Barry ---- Bellamy

--------------- Robinho

--------------- Tevez

More physical games put Tevez in Robinho's postion (droping Robinho) and put Ade up top to hold up play for Carlos

Re: If Robinho returned would you give him the support he needs?

....................Hart....................
Boateng...Kompany....Lescott....Luiz

........Yaya Toure......Barry.........
A Johnson.........................Silva
........................Robinho.........
............Tevez........................

And maybe we could TRY this against easier sides or for the last few mins if we need a win:

....................Hart....................
Boateng......Kompany......Lescott/Luiz

........Yaya Toure......Barry.........
A Johnson.........................Silva
........................Robinho..........
..........Tevez............................
................Adebayor/Other........

However, I can only see Robinho playing any sort of part if we either don't sign a winger, if Teves leaves or if Johnson is dropped to the bench.

It's at times like these that I wish I had that jpeg of the audience giving a standing ovation.
