Arsenal have not played a new young player this season, you can argue Bellerin, but he got his chance through injuries and poor form and took it, Pozo was given a similar opportunity and didn't take it, nothing special from their own products.

A sample of three games..

Also Bellerin got ripped apart in Dortmund but came back stronger for the experience, wither Pozo

The pressure of the battle with Real Madrid means that it is a risk to blood youngsters into the first team when they are the biggest spenders in Europe of the past 15 years. Do you think it's acceptable for the Catalans to finish second to Francos Madrid ?

Probably not, but as I said, there's a lot more context needed, some of which I posted, that provides the understanding as to why Barca can more readily, at this stage, bring through players into the first team, which is currently a much larger risk for us.

So basically every team in the world apart from City, can risk bringing through young players, but in our case it will be fatal. Because when one of the kids makes a mistake, it will be much worse than Willy Caballero diving under the ball, or Clichy sticking half a leg out not stopping a cross, or Javi Garcia, Scott Sinclair, Rodwell, Pizaro, & all the oter fucking no marks who have got games in the past 5 years.

It was ok to sign them for loads of money & let them fuck up whenever, we could still continue our journey with dzeko strolling around like he was on holiday for most of last season, but if one of our own kids makes a mistake, it will cost us everything.

Just total fantasy.

It is total fantasy, because you've made up a point of view for me so you can attack it. It's not what I said, you've written what you wanted me to say, attacked it with a large amount of emotion and delusion, and gone off on a rant, because you've got yourself wound up and upset because Lopes has been sold.

If ever there has been a response so far removed from what the other poster said, then I'd love to read it.

Well, the reality is, Denayer and Lopes weren't here last season. Furthermore, it's fine saying play them in the Carling Cup, but then when we rightly stick to the first team for league games, what do we do with those kids? Send them back to the EDS, that will upset this lot again anyway. So the choice is, keep them for the occasional game, or send them out to a competitive team to play every week, which is what we chose. Barker wasn't ready last season, and Roberts wasn't here.

i meant this season, you were referring to 3 old years ago. we put two on the bench every game then if we are in a good position bring them on, for example when we are 4-0 like in loads of games last year. i know roberts wasn't here last year. i dont see how thats a bad idea. they get competitive football and get to train with the first team. if they do well on loan i.e. denayer - gets into the belguim national team then they should be in the first team squad not forever going out on loan, which is what I'm hoping doesn't happen.

thats a terible argument that was what 3 years ago now ? with lesser quality players

Caballero, Sagna, Kolarov, Demichelis, Mangala, Fernandinho, Milner, Yaya Toure (Navas 60), Silva (Nasri 9 (Aguero 70), Jovetic, Dzeko - was the team that played newcastle last year, not one young player there or against boro. if your telling me denayer, roberts, barker, lopes aren't good enough to start in a carling cup match then we may swell scrap the academy. we do have to find some middle ground and youngsters just like at every other top club need a chance at least in cup games, its not going to mean we instantly lose. i dont understand the fear of playing youth players on here.
And that team got battered by a very young Newcastle side.
