That's just an excuse tbh.

If we didn't have some of the most talented kids in Europe, then I'd agree, but we do do & we are currently showing no signs of even considering bringing them through as other clubs have done with theirs.

It's not an excuse, it's a reason.

Our kids are talented, I agree, but it's clearly your opinion, and not that of the club that they are ready.

We would all love to see an acadamy graduate make it and so this is bad news as he had a lot of potential, I also think Denyer has been poorly treated as well as he was expecting to be part of the squad this year, although that could work out better in the long term with more game time.

The return on investment has been good on Lopes and that is part of the academy as well to make money, time will tell if it was a good decision (albeit one we where probably forced into with him not renewing).

I think there are different successes and this one we have achieved money and given a bright young player a good start, this is part of the academy is sale to potential players is that they will help them acheive a career in football, it is not all about being in City's team for us or for them.

The disappointing thing is that he did seem capable and hopefully over the next 5 years we will start getting some players, for me it is not all about the next Aguero or Silva as much as we would love this (we can always look to buy the superstars), but the academy should start producing the role of squad players like Navas, Sagna, Demi etc.

we are going round in circles he isn't good enough to start league games and in my opinion the occasion sub appearance and cup games is not enough for him now
You're going off right now though, whereas I am referring to how his "first team" career has played out to bring it to this point, which in my opinon is disappointing.

That's all, disappointing.

it is disappointing, it is what it is and we wish him well

I am not saying they are ready, they aren't. I am saying they 'become' ready by being brought through into the first team, perhaps starting as sub etc & increasing in experience as I described previously & learn to be full senior players. Those who struggle to adapt, then get loaned out or sold.

That's how it's done by the majority of clubs.
