Adam Crafton, who did the big interview with Rony and seems close to his crew, says it isn't a loan but permanent. I hope Pellegrini hasn't just made a lazy comment and gotten hopes up, lol.

The fact that he's only got a year left on his deal makes the idea that this is a loan either extremely stupid from our end or total nonsense and Pellers mispoke.

I'm going for the second one
 
How can Lopes go to Monaco on a one year loan when he only has one year left on his contract? I think Pelle might have misspoke.
 
Unless Lopes is signing a new deal before going out on loan, I cant see him being loaned to Monaco as he only has 12months left on his current deal....maybe he's already signed a new contract?

Pellegrini says Lopes is being loaned to Monaco. May lead to him going on a free after if he doesn't sign new contract.
 
What they should do is offer him a new contract but with a decent transfer clause in it. Give him a 5 year more money but a £8M clause where if any club stumps up with that fee then he can leave. Obviously this should be increased periodically at a set date to fall in line with his development.
 
We surely cannot be letting this kid go ! one of the brightest prospects we have at City and a shoe in for a first team place in the future.

Got to be a loan deal, with a new contract in place / signed ?

Hopefully all will become clear in the next few days
