We can afford to replace him. There's no way on earth uncle Malcolm will give bacon face the money he gets from Rooney to spend on another player.
You honestly don't know that though, do you?

Anyway, it's a moot point in my opinion, as I believe Rooney will stay.

I'm sure all the money will get pumped back into the squad like they did with the sale of Ronaldo? eh

Oh, and I'd rather have another Hernandez-style signing than spunking £50m on a Torres type player.

How many £8 million ish players has Taggart bought though before he has actually found one thats any good? Bet if you add them all up he has probably spent in the region of £50 million on them all!

Vidic and Evra both cost under £8m each.

And we did so poorly last season didn't we, winning a trophy and losing the league by 2 points.

Both very good players, Vidic especially but I think we both know that for every Vidic or Hernandez you have bought on the cheap there is double the amount wasted on the likes of Obertan or the tramp!

Yeah but the thing is, Fergie's been here for a quarter of a century, of course he's going to have a list of flops. Rafa Benitez was only at Liverpool for 5 years, and his list of flops is about as long!

We're just lucky that he gets it right more often than not.

The evidence is there for all to see the success you've had in the past and well done for that, but things are changing, the tide is turning.

Move over as there's a new kid in town.......................

Fergie's lost patience with him. I know this to be a fact, but I understand scepticism. Talk is very cheap. No doubt your next post would ask for proof, or suggest I was wrong. Well, consider this:

Fergie sticks up for his players. Always. Without a shadow of a doubt. He always fights for their cause, speaks out regardless of consequences, because he knows that he'll get the heat from the press then, and will take some of the pressure of the player in question. It also shows solidarity to the player from Mr. Manchester United.

"I don't want to talk about that" (or words to that effect) is hardly sticking up for him now is it?

He's had enough.

What I don't get from some of you City fans is why you think that your team getting better somehow ensures United's downfall.

Sure, you're now more competitive, will probably win trophies, perhaps even beat us more often, but in my opinion it's just like when Chelsea got all rich. We'll still be challenging for the trophies, and to think otherwise is not only naive, but arrogant.

We only bought three youngsters in the summer, 1 of whom has already been condemned as a flop, and we're still challenging on three fronts. Success is a hell of a lot more than finding the right players.

Anyone who thinks that all is forgiven after the way Rooney publicly humiliated not just his club but more importantly Taggert is seriously deluded imo.

Not a chance that Baconface will forget what went on and he will be gone in the summer.

Translation, I'd rather have a younger, unknown player who looks like he fits in, than a more expensive player past his best.

No fucking shit sherlock.

Like i stated in my previous post your owners will not pump the money back into the squad as much in the near future, they'll be too busy creaming it off.

Your steady decline will start very soon so enjoy it while it lasts, just my opinion but it'll come.

To be called arrogant from a rag, i never thought i'd see the day.................. lol

Errr...ok. So last summer, if you lot had the chance of either signing, who would you have gone for? I can guarantee you that the VAST majority of Bluemooners would have gone for Torres. Great point though.

-- Thu Apr 07, 2011 3:11 pm --

Fair enough, if history in English football shows us anything, it's that certain teams go through periods of dominance, and then fade for a prolonged period of time, so yea, I see the irony in what I said, as if I assumed we had some God given right to continue to be successful, then that would be arrogant in the extreme...

But I just think we have the infrastructure to continue our success. Ok, so we're up to our fannys in debt, but that's the only, albeit huge (I genuinely nearly said 'massive' there without thinking, though I'd have probably been banned if I did) problem with the club at the moment.

You say ONLY as if it's just the price of pies have gone up?

Your biggest problem is when Taggart throws the towel in..........who's going to fill them shoes?

Id say the biggest problem is that you have the worse United team I have seen in 20 years. Will that stop you winning the title this season? Probably not but thats because despite having what I would suggest is a distinctly average team you have a fantastic manager who somehow manages to get that extra bit from his players. As long as Taggart remains in charge you will always be there or thereabouts but as soon as he goes I expect your team will be shown up for being the average bunch of players that they are unless of course you can appoint someone like Mourinho.

Yep, that was me just trying to be jovial about a fucking depressing amount of debt.

And I agree with you - you can talk all you want about the loss of star players, but the replacement of our manager will be the most important decision in our club's modern history.

I'm sorry but are rags allowed to swear at blues on this forum?

Come on mods, this is unacceptable. I want an apology.

No need for it.

I've heard that so much this season, but it just doesn't wash with me. We've got some fantastic players in this squad, we've got some good players, we've got some average squad players, and we've got some players that only their mothers could love; a perfect squad blend. If we're truly so average, then how shit must the rest of you be?
