Many on here know of my respect for Rooney as a player. I once said that he is the most complete footballer in the world, and though his form is bad currently, I have no doubt that he'll reach those heights again.

That said, I've just seen this:

As much as I like Rooney as a player, this just doesn't sit right with me and I don't know why. I'm not sure that I want him; not because he isn't an excellent player, but because he is such a United player that I'd have trouble adapting to him. I like us causing a bit of mischief around him, but I seriously can't see him here.

Can you seriously imagine yourself chanting 'Rooney! Rooney! Rooney!' at eastlands? It's not right. He doesn't deserve to wear the blue shirt.

Although it would be more controversial than the purchase of Tevez... we won't sign him, he's too ugly, he's not performing... he would be more suited to wasting a few years in Spain with Barca or Real... although i have a feeling that he would probably sign with the latter OR Valencia if they can make a big enough offer...

The main reason we shouldn't sign him is basically this...

If we wanted a shrek who couldn't play football, we would sign Mike Myers... he's all shrek... a condition in the Myers contract... he would have to play in a shrek costum every game... funnily enough i think he would play better than Wayne "Shrek" Rooney right now...
