Rooney (MERGED)

Gary Neville/Rooney injury

Rooney was carried off the training ground today injured after Gary Neville went through with a horrific tackle.

This was right in front of Ferguson. Eye witness report.

Yahoo reporting the Webster ruling as follows;

What's he worth now, 18 months on his contract, shit form since March and publicly (basically) come out and said he wants away from the Scum.

I doubt they could get much more than £25m for him at the top end and only us or maybe Chelsea would be prepared to pay that. I think Barca and Madrid and AC/Inter would be happy to see him run his contract down and chance getting him on a free.

If they sell him in January he's going to be relatively cheap, he knows he can boost his wages hugely just by hanging on for another 18 months and walking on a Bosman (even £25m spread over a 4 year contract would boost his income by £6m a year).

I'd be surprised if anyone offers more than £25m

Absolutely loving it, I've been pmsl now for 2-3 days.........

I realise I'm getting way, way ahead things here but, hypothetically, If the Nick Harris from the Independant's twitter is true and rooney could buy out his contract today for £7.5m then would that make him a free agent? If he was a free agent would we have to wait until January to register him or would it be like Assaulin where we could just sign him straight away?

My question has been lost in the euphoria - does anyone know the answer. I've been trying to fathom how this could drag on for two months but this may be the reason why it has broken now - they don't have to wait two months.

Just sitting back and watching what's happening laughing. If he comes, he comes. If not? It's been a fucking laugh.

Re: Rooney, the plot thickens...

Apparently at the end of training this morning Rooney was carried off on a stretcher with an ankle injury.

Who did it?

It can only be Fergie's pitbull.

' You say he has an ankle injury Boss, don't worry it's as good as done'

Wherever he is going (and I believe it could well be City) the deal is almost certainly agreed in principle.

Rooney holds all the cards over ManYoo and will go where he wants.
