Rooney (MERGED)

Re: Just Stop...

We all cheered Joey Barton and Rooney is a bad person!? Don't make me laugh all this moral high ground after a huge spending spree fuck off. Get him in Get him and Tevez banging them in and lets win the premier fucking league.

Re: Thread to speculate on City's part in the Rooney thing.

I've been talking to.Rags about all this, and I wasn't convinced he'd come. Just thought its a lot of posturing and its just the press linking us.
But the timing of this announcement is what puzzles me. Why now?
I'm thinking this is to pave the way for a January move. The last chance for anyone (us) to spend big before the fair play rules kick in.
He needs to transfer in.January if he's to get the deal he wants

Just stop it.

we are a club who pride ourselves on our morals and and are known for sticking in what we believe in no matter what, then THIS happens, some overrated (used by many on here before) over weight scouser who cheats on his wife and has been a hated figure for the past 6 years for city fans and now you want to sign the devil himself.

Pathetic, if it aint broke don't fix it! we have a fantastic, young, uber talented squad who could potensially win the league but you want to risk all that (because it is a risk considering his form) to 'do one' over united and sign their 'favourite/best' player. We as fans and as a club are better than that.

More importantly Rooney himself would cost at least 50 million in today's transfer market, you really want to give that shower of shite in trafford 50 million pounds to pay off debts?

He is going to leave anyway which will be a big lose for united, but city don't need him, just because we can purchase him doesn't mean we should. we already have a great squad lets not taint it or potentially wreck it with hiring a player who we all 2 weeks ago hated passionately.

Some of you will disagree, i don't care, city if your reading this think about the club not the brand, please don't sign Wayne Rooney, PLEASE!
Bollocks. In the dark days, and not so dark days, we 'prided ourselves' in bringing young talent through year in, year out. Whilst we still do that to an extent, we have the money to get ourselves to a position which we have never been in in the modern game, so bollocks to that sentimental nonsense there, because it simply isn't true. There isn't a club in the world who doesn't need Rooney, and the simple fact is if he comes and does the business, everyone will start calling him the next god, messiah, City Legend.... and rightly so too because his RAG past will be exactly that, the past. All these saying they don't want him because he's coming from 'them', well i'd take your blue tints off if I were you and realise the big picture, and that is that if Rooney comes from United to City, a massive massive transfer, it shows we, yes, WE, are making massive strides under the Sheikh.

Not often i argee with you Pigeonho(due to Mancini!!) but im 100% with you on this
Great post

Re: Thread to speculate on City's part in the Rooney thing.

Rooney's agent is an ex-Nike man and is good mates with Marwood... Need I speculate any more.

Just Stop...

It's funny I don't won't him. But listening to the radio and the managers of some of the biggest clubs in Europe all saying who wouldn't be interested in a player of Rooneys class?!! is it me that thinks he not that good?! Or I'm I being Blinkered?

Well, two days of rumours and now we know he is going to be available. In truth i have no idea how i feel about this.

One one hand he is a quality striker when fit who can only improve us while at the same time weakening the rags.

On the other hand i don't feel comfortable with him and more so what he is. it would also be a feild day for all the people saying about us buying the title. that said i am sure we must be able to make huge revenue from having him on board.

the way i feel at the moment is that i would only have him if it was to prevent him going to Chelsea, if they got their hands on him we would really struggle to win the league.

However if he was going to Madrid or Barca then i would sooner look else where.

At the end of the day whatever our board and RM decide is fine by me and i certainlty won't complain whatever happens.

He probably asked Lescott "How much you earning at City Joleon"

Lescott says "£100k a week"

Rooney thinks "Fuck me thats more than I get and he is crap- How much must I be worth?"

Next day on phone to Mr Stretford
