Rooney (MERGED)

One question keeps coming back to me. If we knew about this way back in august why would we still go hard for Balo. If we knew that this was happening we surely wouldn't have gone for him.

Can't say I've seen much of mario but by all accounts they are very very similar players.

Re: Just Stop...

Not arsed about all that, if he gets us 30 goals a season who cares? Tevez played for United and has scored against us etc but now he's here he's our CAPTAIN! And a revelation, it would be stupid on every level to deny a goalscorer of that calibre to come here, i'm not one to get involved in all the hype, I really think he's Madrid bound but a lot of strange things are going on, the Ferguson interview today showed us that something has come to Rooney and made a decision for him, something that has rocked United at its foundations.

Just stop it.

we are a club who pride ourselves on our morals and and are known for sticking in what we believe in no matter what, then THIS happens, some overrated (used by many on here before) over weight scouser who cheats on his wife and has been a hated figure for the past 6 years for city fans and now you want to sign the devil himself.

Pathetic, if it aint broke don't fix it! we have a fantastic, young, uber talented squad who could potensially win the league but you want to risk all that (because it is a risk considering his form) to 'do one' over united and sign their 'favourite/best' player. We as fans and as a club are better than that.

More importantly Rooney himself would cost at least 50 million in today's transfer market, you really want to give that shower of shite in trafford 50 million pounds to pay off debts?

He is going to leave anyway which will be a big lose for united, but city don't need him, just because we can purchase him doesn't mean we should. we already have a great squad lets not taint it or potentially wreck it with hiring a player who we all 2 weeks ago hated passionately.

Some of you will disagree, i don't care, city if your reading this think about the club not the brand, please don't sign Wayne Rooney, PLEASE!

And how many managers have we had in the last twenty years???

Well said that man.

I would fookin love it if he signed for us, as long as Cookie and BM do (or have done) some careful man managing of Tevez and the other key players to keep them happy.

Reasons -

1) It would piss Man U fans off more than anything else
2) He is a great player when he is on form, one of the best
3) This signing would take us up another level again profile wise

As long as he leaves OT I will be happy enough, having said that.

I am fucking loving all this.
No, I am not agreeing with you. It was an ironic response to the post above. I'm just sick of either sides of this divide thinking they can slag off the other side for being bitter or obsessed or anything else. The side that doesn't want Rooney to be signed can argue that those who do want to annoy the rags. The side that does can argue those that don't, don't want Rooney because he's a rag. It's fucking retarded. We should keep this to football only and not have a go at each other over it.

Re: have we actually said we want him?

"Rooney is an important player, a good player. But he is a Manchester United player not a Manchester City player, so i don't want talk about him. But he is a top player, an important player. Only for this."

Re: Just Stop...

well i hope we do go after him, he is a top player, forget who he plays for, the same things were said about tevez on here, about kidd on here about platt on here some fans just can't get past the red thing, if we want to be the best we have to buy the best simple as

and if anyone is daft enough to think he is not the player he was then you are kidding yourselves and as deluded as the mugs from the swamp now calling him shite,

he is having a bit of a bad patch at the moment but are you surprised with what has come out today he told the rags he wanted out in august so has been playing under a cloud since add to that personal issues and injury i can understand his poor form

personally i think he will go to madrid just can't see the rags accepting him coming to city but if they do and he wants to come, welcome i say

FUCKING BRILLIANT!!!!!!
