I cant see why people are getting this excited already. The only things that have happened are that Rooney has said he wants to leave.

People need to realise that there are other clubs out there that can get him. Real can afford him and i dont think i need to explain why he would want to go there. Barca cant afford him right now but they have a lot of time to make the money and a lot of fringe players who they could sell to raise the funds. Add to that Chelsea, Inter, Juve and possibly Bayern Munich.

Realisticly i could only see him moving to 4 of them clubs but anything can happen in football.

There may be a few rumours going round that we have agreed everything with Rooney and just need to agree a deal with the rags but whos saying they want to sell to us? Yes they need the money but Real could offer just as must as us if they really wanted to.

There are also a lot of reasons why he would reject us so i think people should just calm down because we all now what happened when we got excited about a certain Mr Kaka and that deal looked done and dusted but still didnt happen.

I think that's over-simplifying it to be honest.

As Daniel Taylor quoted a source at City from saying, "We haven't discussed signing Rooney before like we haven't discussed signing Messi. Now we know he's avaialble it's changed matters."

Iniesta isn't available either. Rooney is the only player in that world class bracket that we can buy NOW. It's only right we give it seriously consideration.

It was only on Monday when it was really growing as a story and I was in the Trafford Centre that I realised just how big a deal he is. His image is everywhere. You may hate him, but he is the full package.

The only thing that's ever really wound me up about him is the shirt he wears. I thought he was brilliant last season and you don't just become shit overnight.

I won't lose sleep if he goes somewhere else, but the thought of him playing for us excites me enormously. I became unconcerned about footballer's morals a long time ago.

admittedly I haven't read the entire thread, the site is a bit slow tonight, I only pulled out the part which I though was worth comment.

Is it wrong to feel sorry for 'them'? Said to one today "admit it, you need the money more than we need Rooney". I was expecting a "fuck off" but after a good five second pause he simply said "yeah"... his face was down as fuck. Ahh this isn't a time to be soft BS... man up and remember being locked in OT ffs.
