Manchester City ready for 'outrageous' move for Wayne Rooney

City are today today poised to make an outrageous swoop to sign Wayne Rooney from arch rivals United for a British record transfer fee

City would have to at least double the fee United paid Everton for Rooney, with the bidding starting at £60m for a transfer which would earn the player £200,000-plus a week at Eastlands.

So how exactly could we bid for him today? Is the transfer window open?

You can bid, pre-contract sign and even pay for a player.

You cannot transfer him and play him.

I would love for City to sign him but i really cant see utd selling to us,i know his contract runs out soon etc etc but still i think utd will do anything to stop him signing for us.

Anybody think there will be any more news about Rooney today?

Anyone who thinks we have not had any kind of contract with rooneys reps are being very naieve imo, just cos bobby (lieing through his teeth mancini) says we had no contact etc doesn't mean we havent.

I asked the question last night but it appears to have been ignored, does anybody think he would join us if, we were offering him the same current wage he's on now ? Does anybody think he would join us for footballing reasons and not just a ridiculous wage packet ?
