I cannot see it being pre-agreed. The rags giving us permission to speak to the player without us agreeing a fee is borderline ludicrous and if that wasn't the case then it'd be illegal / tapping up scam material. Some big questions have been raised today. If Taggert knew on August 14 why did the Scum given their perilous Financial state not try and cash in then?. We had whispers on the Forum that they had shown a bit of interest in Robinho for starters.

I can only presume that in their arrogance Ferguson and Gill expected Rooney to fire in the Goals to keep them challenging and that eventually he would have had a change of heart.
