Ross Barkley

Zabaleta is better than Coleman, Barkley wouldn't sort out the defensive problems we face with Yaya either and he certainly isn't anywhere near his level.

The new white hope. Good player with potential, but as usual the media are going way over the top. MOTD are going to wank over anyone who's English over the next 5-6 months. Just witness the coverage this week of Barkley and the young left back playing for Southampton.

I noiw await the assassination job on us if we are linked to either of them regarding us ruining the careers of Johnson, Sinclair, Rodwell, Lescott etc, etc, etc.....

We will pay a record fee between British clubs for Barkley next summer.

It's either him or Wilshere. We need to start thinking about English players who are good enough for our best 11, not just supporting roles.

Who will he replace in our current starting eleven ?

Yaya. He's who we need to replace next. Like I said, 'start thinking'. We don't have to replace him in January. This should be Yaya's last season as a main member of a midfield 2 though, if that's what we're doing. Put him in a three by all means but Fernandinho isn't Superman; I doubt he can keep this up all season.

I'd love to see

Coleman-----Komps---ANother-------Shaw
-------Fernandinho-----Barkley-------
-----------------Silva--------------------
------Aguero-----Negredo----Jovetic-------

So no Zabaleta and playing Barkley in a position he doesn't play?
Hmm.

Barkley is a midfielder,do you not think he can be flexible in his role?

Fernandinho has adapted superbly to a more defensive approach, given his engine, industry and aggression, why couldn't Barkley perform similar?

As for Coleman,in our attacking setup,i think he could provide that little bit more pace and quality than Zaba.

Ok,lets be nice.....educate me rather than criticise?

What is wrong with that set up?

I'm always nice to you.....

Firstly you've tweaked his position to meet your formation not what makes him (potentially) the player he's going to be, he'll play in essence where silva does, Coleman ffs... ? Do I have to comment? I really don't want to. As for jovetic he will have to go some to push out nasri and frankly when both on form he doesn't come close!

We don't know what Jovetic 'on form' is though, do we? So it's pretty hard to say he wouldn't displace Nasri. Jovetic was a potential world beater before he was put out for an entire season through injury, he's hugely talented.

Well his career didn't start with city with all due respect, watched a great deal of him over the years and he's not at nasris level, even on song- he may get there but he'll have to up his game considerably!

I see Barkley as a box to box type,Gerrard like..... surely just what we're looking for?

I have high hopes for Jovetic and I think he will provide more balance to the team than Nasri, their talent imo, isnt far apart.

Coleman,i think he's the best rb about at present - I might be going mad?? who knows.....
