I'd like to think I know about the chairman of the football club I support better than you do, but you seem to know him really well. You must be an acquaintance of his. I personally only know two people who can give me reliable information about the club, so as you know Kenwright in person, I'll take your word for it. It's a shame, because I've been told that the club will continue to raise the price for Ross to above your FFP threshold, so long as he keeps improving.

You really havn`t got a clue about FFP have you.Care to explain the "threshold" that you talk about for our Club ??

i think like most other fans, he'd assume the figure plastered most across the media: the 50 million transfer limit. somehow this has gone in their minds as fixed and continuing into further years.

Dude @efcblue, City spent a net of 66 million in 2013-14, and we are expecting to break even for that season. Our income meanwhile has risen, wages are down, and we are expected to net another 50 million due to our academy. meanwhile our stadium is expanding, TV income has increased - we could potentially spend twice that amount net in one season if we want to. Ross will only cost a fraction of it

think about it another way: in 2015-16, we have the means, through our "own" income, to spend what united did this ear

Lalalalalalala I`m not listening.

Nope mate, still stands that the club have every intention of using FFP to price you guys out of the move and Ross isn't fussed about moving here anyway.

What a load of bollocks. Your chairman is one of the biggest money grubbers in the league. If the price is right he will snatch our hand off. As for Barkley, he's hardly likely to say he wants to come to City whilst he's still at Everton. He'll keep his powder dry until the bid comes in and if its accepted, he'll be off like a shot.

Mate, things changed for us when the Sheikh bought us in ways that fans of other clubs don't seem to comprehend. I've heard it before with other players. "He won't move to you because he's said he wants to win things with us" (Arsenal fans on Nasri), he isn't motivated by money and doesn't even have an agent (Villa fans on Milner), there's "not a chance" he will be sold (Moyes on Lescott).

You may not like it and it may not be fair but if we want him we get him. Even if you're right about the chairman keeping him at all costs, which I doubt, you're ignoring the fact that the player may want to play for a club with more chance of winning trophies (no disrespect intended). Players also have agents and contracts so it isn't a unilateral decision by Kenwright. He has to act in the best interests of your club if for example a player wants higher wages that he can't pay or a player doesn't have long left on his contract.

When was the last time a player didn't take the money and run? Remember Rooney? Save yourself the heartache, modern day footballers aren't worth it.

This is such a wonderfully naive post.

I obviously hit a nerve. You didn't want to sell Lescott either, how did that work out ?
If we want Barkley and he wants to come here, then there is not a fucking chance Uncle Bill will risk him running down his contract. He'll sell as soon as an acceptable bid comes in. If you can't grasp that simple fact then you are deluding yourself.
The best players want to win things and play at the highest level. He's got more of a chance of doing that with us than he has if he stays put.

As for his value, personally I don't see him worth more than £15-£20M tops. Becuase he's English and you don't want to sell, you will probably get about £30M which is way more than he is currently worth.
The potential is there, but as of yet that is all.
I'd much rather we went for Pogba.

Isn't it. I just hope he remembers it in a couple of years when our club continues its inexorable ascent to the top of European club football. The levels of ignorance and denial from fans of clubs like Everton, Liverpool and Spurs about the scope of the 'project' is still utterly astonishing. They simply haven't applied their minds logically to what is in front of their very eyes.

The levels of bitterness towards us are set to increase in the coming years, for better or worse. Not least because people look for someone else to lash out against when they've been hopelessly misguided about something, as fans of other clubs will soon come to appreciate they have been about City.

Personally, I prefer it that way. I thought being everyone's second favourite club was demeaning.

I find it laughable that an Everton fan thinks he knows his clubs Chairman yet in the same sentence suggests that Chairman won't sell a player.... Nothing has changed at Everton in recent seasons despite what you may think. Despite Moyes leaving and a promising season last time out you are still in the same position. I believe I am right in saying Everton bought two players last season - one for £4m and one for £28m. £32m? That's about enough for one quality player these days. You've not become a rich club with money to burn. You are also not challenging for titles and are unlikely to qualify for the CL. You are a big club, a good club and one that used to dick us over everytime we played even without fit strikers half the time - but now we are on a different planet and fortunately can put in a bid to your club and buy your players. How much could Barkley's fee be pushed to? It would have to be over £100m for us to struggle with FFP, and even that would probably still be manageable.

FFP has done exactly the opposite of what it is branded as. The rich get richer and clubs like Everton fall further behind. Your Chairman will as always try and get the most money. He will, as always complain we have tapped up a player of yours or used unfair means to try and buy him. He will, as always, say the player is not for sale. But as always Barkley will eventually be sold.
