Nothing to be blown away by in my opinion.

My problem is that while he's good at dribbling, he doesn't use that nor does it particularly shift a defensive shape our of alignment, he kinda just skims across the line not really affecting it in any meaningful way, no one gets dragged out of position and he doesn't create options for others, ends up being a pass I'd expect most players to make. We can get players of similar quality for significantly less money, Reus FFS would be cheaper and actually add guile, passing ability, assists and goals to our squad. I just honestly don't see it with Barkley, like I said earlier he seems like the typical modern english midfielder, might from a distance look good but does fuck all on closer inspection. Cleverdonna mark II.

I dont disagree with that to be fair he's certainly not a silva type midfielder. But I think he'd bring a goal threat, he has a wicked long shot on him and has the ability to dribble his way through and score as he showed at newcastle last year. Be a good long term Lampard replacement for me due to his goal threat and with better players around him maybe he'll be able to make more telling passes thanks to more intelligent runs from the likes of serge.
