Ross Barkley

His potential was there for all to see, yes he dived but the way he glided past our players at pace was brilliant. I think he will be unplayable in a few years would love him at city.

Diving fucker but he definately caught my eye tonight. Very good on the ball and he has pace.

Funny Martinez making comments about him and us before the game and then dropping him to the bench. He definately was showing someone what he is capable of tonight!

My problem is that while he's good at dribbling, he doesn't use that nor does it particularly shift a defensive shape our of alignment, he kinda just skims across the line not really affecting it in any meaningful way, no one gets dragged out of position and he doesn't create options for others, ends up being a pass I'd expect most players to make. We can get players of similar quality for significantly less money, Reus FFS would be cheaper and actually add guile, passing ability, assists and goals to our squad. I just honestly don't see it with Barkley, like I said earlier he seems like the typical modern english midfielder, might from a distance look good but does fuck all on closer inspection. Cleverdonna mark II.

I dont disagree with that to be fair he's certainly not a silva type midfielder. But I think he'd bring a goal threat, he has a wicked long shot on him and has the ability to dribble his way through and score as he showed at newcastle last year. Be a good long term Lampard replacement for me due to his goal threat and with better players around him maybe he'll be able to make more telling passes thanks to more intelligent runs from the likes of serge.

I hope you're right, especially if we are in for him and I put a lot of trust in TB to pick a player. But he's only scored 6 in 54 appearances, it's hardly prolific. Again, I do hope I am wrong, even if we don't sign him being one of those England supporting twats.

Interesting performance today imo.

Felt very much like he was trying far to much to be billy big bollocks. Tried to take everyone on every time he got the ball.

Felt like he thought he was auditioning for something ;)

dont agree with that. you can see the potential there the way he moves with the ball is very impressive. He clearly made a difference for everton today. His decision making will improve remember he's only 20.
