I bet she'd love him more on £100,000 per week and a house in Alderley Edge, or maybe she loves him for his wit and sparkling personality

The price will already be mental, Everton already seem to think he is world class when he is anything but at this moment.

I hope we dodge Barkley like Wayne Rooney dodges salads. Way overpriced for a player who could still go either way.
For that price I want the finished article, not someone who is still developing and blows hot and cold.
I'd be happy if we paid that for Pogba, but I'd still have a few reservations. If we paid anywhere near £60M for Barkley, we'd want our fucking heads testing.

Can't take that article too seriously as it is penned by Pete the rag Spencer and has too many cheap jibes at us. He achieved what he wanted, lots of comments on the article.

I think that's a bit harsh if I'm honest. I like him a lot. He probably isn't worth anywhere near 60 million right now, but at the same time there isn't is a big difference between him Pogba, and Koke. I watched the Spurs match the other night. This is a decent comp of his contribution. You can see what his strengths and weaknesses are. He's a player who I think would flourish at City under Pellegrini.

The fee being stated is outrageous and we will never pay it, but Barkley is an incredible talent and worth the punt. He was impressive against Spurs despite the fact they absolutely hounded him. They gave him no time and had about two or three people pressing him at once. He still managed to find space, and to keep the ball despite that. In our side if he was closed down like that but still able to find a pass - Yaya, Silva, Aguero would have acres of room. The talent in our team means the opposition couldn't afford to put so many players on him and he would excel with more space.

He's definitely going to be a cracking player. It's just cost v benefit ratio considering Yaya can play the same role for a good couple of seasons longer and Pogba is more box to box and could slot straight in.

He played wide right in the first half which was a bizarre decision by Martinez (Evertonians are complaining he's been played out of position for a lot of the season).

What makes me confident he can play in our team is his close control and his awareness. You can see he doesn't panic when he's being hounded and can see for the most part a good picture of what's going on around him.

Barkley, who is an integral part of Roy Hodgson’s England squad, is on the most wanted list of Europe’s elite clubs as the January transfer window looms.

Nope, just the English ones, nobody outside the Premier League would consider paying that amount for somebody who doesn't count towards a quota.
