Ross Barkley

Anyone willing to pay Everton £60m is also out of their mind. Yaya cost us £24m and Bayern signed Ballack (the player who Barkley is being compared to) for £10m. His passing range is his weak spot as well as being injury prone. And for a £60m rated player he didn't have much influence in the World Cup.
How many times does it need to be said £60mill was just paper talk nothing more than made up bolox

It is more than made up bollocks. Barkley has signed a new 4 year contract in the summer, and if the likes of Lallana and Shaw went for £25m and £30m respectively it doesn't stop Everton putting a ridiculous price tag on the player either.

Yes, but where does the £60m figure you used come from?

My only concern with Barkley is his work rate, in terms of his ability to regain possession continuously throughout 90-95 minutes. People only see players abilities on the ball in highlights and watching games on TV but I know a fair few Everton fans through work and they seem to think very similarly to our views on Yaya Toure. In possession he's great, when you haven't got the ball he goes missing and hides.

We saw in Rome with Fernando and Fernandinho that ability to press high up the pitch and win possession back quickly is essential as a central midfielder in the Champions League.

Roberto Martinez has told the press they value him at £40mill

Equally ridiculous!

The 40m Martinez has quoted and add another 20m.

By Barkley's age, Toure had scored 6 league goals in Belgium and the Ukraine in over 100 games; Barkley currently has 7 in 56 appearances in the Premier League, yet some football masterminds on here seem sure that he will never reach or surpass Toure's level.

£60m is excessive and I'm sure a deal could be reached for a little more than half of that, but if we did sign him at £40m and get 10 years of service from him that's £4m a season. For a club willing to spend £34m on Sakho's back up in the French national team, it's a price worth paying.

Where will he play? despite last night's more than decent performance I don't see him as a Yaya replacement, he's a number 10 and Silva, Nasri, Jovetic and even Yaya can do a more than decent job.

I don't understand the hype behind him. He gets a great goal now and then but until 1 week ago pundits were criticizing this guy for losing his touch from last season. He's no Yaya that's for sure. I think Pogba might be the only one who is potentially available that can replace YT.

Why are people comparing him to Ballack? Barkley's more skillful, Ballack was the German Lampard whereas Barkley's Rooney with more skill and pace but less clinical in front of goal.

Ideally in centre mid alongside Pogba, 1 of which is more defensive and the other more attacking ideal pairing.

You'd be wasting Pogba tbh, all his strengths are in his attacking game and he'd make a poor defensive midfielder, it'd be like the difference between Barca and City Yaya.
