Been thinking about this more today and I don't think Everton would even entertain selling him if they made top 4.

Maybe if they don't they would consider, but he's going to cost around £30m.

I'm not so arrogant either to think he would want to come to us just yet, he's a scouser born and bred and surely has a lot of affinity to the Toffees, Good luck to him I say, would be fantastic to see a great young midfielder make his mark, just as long as it's not for yoonited (not sure he would like Thursday night European matches anyways).
 
He's clearly a good prospect, but we don't need him at all. He's a number 10/attacking midfielder, a position where we already have Silva, Nasri and even Yaya. He plays in the position where the most talented players in world football want to play, and he simply isn't on the same level as the best players in the world. If he was a central or holding midfielder then I'd be all in favour of pushing the boat out to get him, but I've not seen anything to suggest he can play there, or at a high enough level. For the amount he'd cost, you could get an Ozil or a Mata in that position, and I really don't think he is even anywhere near that level, or if he ever will be. Should be a great player for the future of England though
 
He's played in a deeper role before. Many Evertonians see him as the future of England's midfield rather than as a number 10.
