Rossi could go for as little as £12m

Pardon for the bump of this old thread, but I was just wondering if anyone here had heard something regarding Giuseppe, - is he fit, playing again, how's he doing and so on?

Don't care tbh :)

If we're after striker than it should be one of Falcao/Neymar size, not Rossi

Well, back a few years ago, before his first severe injury, he was up there amongst the best strikers in the world, third best in Spain if I'm not mistaken. A Rossi of that quality would fit perfectly in out squad and would immediately be out second, or maybe even best striker.

I'm afraid those days are gone though, but I think he was a cracking player back then and always had a soft spot for him.

i think 12m can get rossi,is the good deal.rossi also is world glass stiker

Considering Villarreal got relegated and are heavily in debt, I'd say he could be bought for even less than that.
I think it just could be worth the gamble. He still pretty young, speaks English, Spanish and Italian fluently which ought to make it easy for him to adapt. I also think he would accept being a squad player the first year or so, given he will need time to get back into shape.

An old thread I know, but I can't help but bringing it up again. He has so far in the league scored 12 in 15 games for Fiorentina, is almost back to his best fitness wise after his double major injuries. We could have gotten him for a mere pittance a while ago, but now I reckon he'd be rather costly.

Would fit in perfectly in our squad and our type of play, speaks English and Spanish fluently as well. Has an impressive work rate, is a lethal finisher and very technically gifted.

For me an ideal replacement for Edin this summer.

With our current first choices plus Jovetic..... then surely a rapidly progressing Guidetti would be his ideal replacement?

The squad needs balance, our forwards are fine and certainly not the priority.

I'd agree with you about our strikers if I shared your opinions. :)

I don't see Jovetic as primarily a striker, more of a left sided attacking midfielder/inside forward. I'm sure he could do a decent job as a striker though, but I think his creativity is more needed than his finishing.

As for John, the jury is still out on him isn't it? Guidetti has strengths, but also weaknesses. Can he be the hard-working, quick, mobile and technically adept striker we demand?
We simply do not know how good he will be yet. It would be ideal as you say, I agree with that.

And yes, - other areas of the squad deserves attention before the striker department gets looked into, no doubt about that.
